SEC Spotlight: No. 8 Auburn (-3) at Mississippi State

Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET, on ESPN2

Free NCAAF Pick: ‘Under’ 45

Best Line Offered: BetOnline

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3447705, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,238,19,43,349], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

Going into last Saturday’s narrow 24-13 win over Southern Miss, Auburn’s (4-1 SU, 2-3 ATS) powerful offensive line had allowed only seven sacks of QB Jarrett Stidham in four games. The Golden Eagles nearly halved that with three takedowns and four hurries by flooding the secondary and never rushing more than five defenders. Mississippi State (3-2 SU, 3-2 ATS) would be wise to emulate a similar game plan against an indecisive and largely immobile Stidham.

The Bulldogs are plagued with quarterback issues of their own. The offense hashit a roadblock since starting SEC play, averaging 6.5 points and 201.5 total yards in losses against Kentucky (28-7) and Florida (13-6). Mississippi State kicked off a 9.5- and 7.5-point favorite for what it’s worth. Some are even calling for Nick Fitzgerald, who tossed for 243 yards, 0 TDs, and a pick on 27-of-58 passing in the defeats, to give backup sophomore Keytaon Thompson a chance. Fitzgerald is flat out erratic and throwing behind receivers regularly.

The recent QB woes for both teams should have every bettor leaning ‘under’ 45 points. The bet has cashed in four of five contests with coach Gus Malzhan guiding the Tigers. Mississippi State, in fact, has failed to reach their project total in four tilts by a 5.3 average margin. It’s a race to 20 points for the winner.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

JUST IN: Our game vs Auburn on Oct. 6 will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.#HailState🐶 ;/a>
— MSU Football 🏈 (@HailStateFB) 30 de setembro de 2018
\n"}[/]

Around The SEC (All Games Saturday)

No.1 Alabama (-34.5) at Arkansas, noon ET, on ESPN: Since 1996, Arkansas (1-4 SU, 2-3 ATS) has gone off as a 2-point underdog or more seven times.
