That is right, we are coming up on another Saturday night of college football in the pursuit of putting the head on the pillow with more money in our pockets than we had when we woke today.

For college football picks, thought we would roll along with the of taking songs related to Saturday's and make sure they relate the contests that have been chosen.

While this idea might not help you beat the college football odds, my 9-5-1 ATS mark after dark on this day of the week are intended too. Earlier today, the Bloody Mary Report here at SBR came up a little short at 1-2.

Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting (Elton John and Nickelback)

This rousing rocker perfectly sets the tone for Michigan State and Michigan, which is an annual fight in the Wolverine State. After being dominated for decades, the Spartans have won seven of nine and have covered a hard to fathom nine in a row. Michigan State is coming off a rare poor season under coach Mark Dantonio at 3-9 SU and has been much better this season. In this Big Ten bruiser, the best value is on the Michigan State side, catching 10.5 points in my opinion. Not saying Sparty wins the game, but cannot ignore Michigan State is 17-2 ATS as an underdog against opponents that are off a win and spread-cover.

Saturday Night Special (Lynard Skynard)

That is exactly what we have in this Mountain West Conference clash with Fresno State visiting San Jose State. Hard to believe the Spartans have already played six times, being among the handful of teams that started on Aug. 26th and they have not a had a bye week yet. San Jose State's lone victory has come against FCS squad Cal Poly and they have failed to cover four straight. Fresno State in much improved under new coach Jeff Tedford who used to run Cal, and they have covered all four contests. For this encounter, we have a special system that reads like this: Road teams after allowing 125 or less rushing yards in two straight games, against opponent after being outrushed by 150 or more yards in a pair of contests, are a jaw-dropping 23-2 ATS.

High 'N Dry (Saturday Night) - Def Leppard

The title, in this case, refers to the sportsbooks opening total of 49 for Wisconsin and Nebraska, which was left on dry dock with adjustment all the way down to 46. As to why, the Badgers are only allowing 13.5 PPG on the season and in the Cornhuskers past three outings, they have surrendered just 44 points and 12 of those came on Pick 6's against them. Add in both offenses will be without important starters and it is easier to take a liking to the Children of the Corn having 7-0 UNDER mark at home after allowing 100 or less rushing yards in two straight tilts.
