Time to break out those all white disco suits from the late 1970's because it is time for Saturday Night Fever! Oh that's right, we are talking college football betting ... so we'll tell you what's what!

Our meaning takes on a different fever, as each touchdown and turnover rises and lowers our blood temperature, depending who we choose for college football picks.

My esteemed colleague Willie Bee handled the day shift and yours truly has the night shift and going all in on three games in which SEC teams are involved, looking to better 3-3 early season record.

Mississippi in Disarray Hosting South Alabama

No doubt Ole Miss being lowered from -27 to -24 or .23.5 is about questions where the football program is after the dismissal of head coach Hugh Freeze. One cannot argue about the logic, though at least the Rebels will had a time to mentally prepare for this. Shea Patterson looks like the next excellent quarterback to play for Mississippi, but will he stay past this season with sanctions coming? South Alabama upset Miss. State in last year's opener, yet, cannot see that happening again. Nevertheless, have absolutely no idea where Mississippi is mentally coming into their opener and with only UT-Martin on deck, not expecting an inspired effort from the Rebels.

Auburn Tigers and Georgia Southern go Hunting for Points

The original opening total was 52 has zoomed all the way to 59. And that still will not be enough. Everyone knows Gus Malzahn's offense is predicated on quality quarterback play and he finally looks to have one in Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham. If Stidham can throw as presumed, that really opens a potent running game. While the Tigers have home run hitters, Georgia Southern's offense is most effective at four yards a carry, wearing down the opposition as much physically as mentally. Once Auburn builds its leads and the defensive subs come in, the Eagles will score a few more points, sending total past the college football odds total.

Does Venue Change Favor LSU Over BYU?

This contest was originally scheduled to be played in Houston and of course we all understand why the game was moved to New Orleans. In theory, this could be a win-win for both teams. LSU has less travel and can have more fans being closer to home. Not being in a conference, BYU only has so many games in which they can create a national buzz and this will certainly be one of them. Head coach Kalani Sitake can really sell the underdog role even more given these circumstances. The Cougars played very poorly against Portland State at home last Saturday and if they play anywhere close to the same, they will need the pointspread to be +29.5 not +14.5. However, I believe BYU understands what is at stake, plays very hard, but loses by 10.
