Time to boogie down (sorry, I know that is lame) and uncover a bunch of college football winners after dark on the gridiron. The Bee Gees used to rule here, but we will tonight!

OK, enough very old school references, let's get up to speed and look to conquer some college football odds this evening.

As has been the custom this season, Willie Bee is covering the early daytime schedule and had bad luck in OT with Arkansas, to finish 1-2, while yours truly is a pigskin vampire on Saturday's and has college football picks after dark.

Hop on the Ponies Tonight

No, no I am not talking about betting horses, I am referring to the SMU Mustangs who are playing Arkansas State. SMU head coach Chad Morris had brought a fast-paced high-octane offense to Dallas and the Ponies in the early part of the season are averaging 49.3 points a game. Arkansas State has won or tied for five of the last six Sun Belt titles, which is why they are only a +2.5-point road underdog. However, I have a top-notch system on SMU and it reads this way: Play On home teams after gaining 6.25 or more yards per play in games two consecutive games, in a contest between two teams with five or less defensive starters returning, in the first month of the season. Since 1983, this system is a sweet 24-4 ATS.

Notre Dame Gets Their Irish Up

With my connections, I talk to a number of people in the sports betting community. This week, I would venture to guess at least 80 percent are backing Michigan State as the home underdog of +3 points against Notre Dame. They are looking at a much improved Spartans defense and an offense that is improving. In addition, if the spread is indeed accurate, the Irish have not shown enough fight in close contests and are 1-8 SU in games determined by a seven points or less since 2015. This is where I go, contrarian. Notre Dame also has a better defense and while its passing offense is still rough around the edge, the running is flat out explosive. With the visiting team 10-2-2 ATS in this series, it will be the Irish to cover.

Stanford Rebounds Off Consecutive Losses

Hard to imagine Stanford could be any more disappointing in losing last two games to USC and San Diego State. Now back home, you know coach David Shaw will be back to the basics and stress fundamentals in preparation for UCLA. The Bruins defense is so bad, UCLA fans are wearing Kesha t-shirts for the song "Praying" as a sign of support and disgust. Quarterback Josen Rosen is doing everything he can to help the team, but no player should have the brunt of responsibility to think they have to lead the team to touchdown on every drive or they might lose. I will make the call on the Cardinal at -7, who is 17-4 ATS after losing two of three against the spread and 10-2 ATS off an upset loss as a favorite.
