We’re going to examine Tuesday’s college football contest between Ball State & Bowling Green. Go inside to read our insightful preview article culminated by a college football pick.

Tuesday Night in the MAC
Ball State (38) will host Bowling Green University (8-3) on Tuesday in what will be the final regular season game for both teams. The opening kickoff at Scheumann Stadium in Muncie, Indiana is slated for 7:00 PM ET. According to college football odds, BGU is a 21.5 point favorite, and there is total of 69.5. Ball State upset BGU last season as a 10.0 point underdog by a score of 41-24.

Playing out the String
Ball State has played like they can’t wait for the season to end during its previous two games. They lost road games at Western Michigan 54-7, and also suffered a 48-31 defeat at Ohio last week against a very banged up Bobcats team. During those two losses they not only allowed a combined 102 points, the Cardinals also gave up a whopping 1318 yards. After a 2-1 start to the season, Ball State has gone 1-7 in their last eight games. Their only three wins this season have come against opponents who head into this week with a cumulative record of 5-28 (.152).

Falcons on the Rebound
BGU had their seven game win streak come to end last week during a 44-28 home loss to Toledo. There’s nothing to be ashamed about for losing to an outstanding 10-1 Rockets team. It’s the decisiveness of the loss that left them with a bad taste in their mouth. BGU has already clinched a spot in the MAC Championship Game against either Northern Illinois or Toledo. However, I look for the Falcons to come up with a huge effort on Tuesday, and turn in a dominating performance.

Final Analysis
This is a BGU offense that averages 43.8 points and 565.1 yards per game. I’ve already alluded to the porous play of Ball State’s defense, and can’t see how they’ll be able to stop a high powered offense like they’re about to face on Tuesday. BGU has already clinched a spot in the MAC Championship Game against either Northern Illinois or Toledo. However, I look for the Falcons to come up with a huge effort on Tuesday, and turn in a dominating performance. I’ll have a lean toward the large road favorite in this contest for one of my college football picks this week.
