SBR contributor and professional sports handicapper Ross Benjamin has gone 37-19 (66%) with his college football picks over the past seven weeks. Who does he like in Tuesday’s MAC game between Kent State and Bowling Green?

Kent State At Bowling Green

Bowling Green will host Kent State in a Mid-American Conference action Tuesday night. The opening kickoff at Doyt Perry Stadium is slated for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPNU. Bowling Green was a 48-0 blowout winner at Kent State a season ago.

At the time of this writing, college football betting odds at Bookmaker have Kent State as a 2.5-point road favorite and there’s yet to be a posted total. Bookmaker is offering new customers 50% cash bonuses on all initial deposits of up to $300.

Futile 3-Year Stretch For Golden Flashes

Kent State had a superb 11-3 season back in 2012 under since-departed head coach Darrell Hazell. Paul Haynes took over the head coaching reigns in 2013 and things haven’t gone very well at all during his tenure. Since, Kent State has gone a dismal 12-33 (.267) and 18-27 ATS (40%). Furthermore, three of those 13 wins came against FCS opponents (Liberty, Delaware State, & Monmouth)

Down Year For Falcons

Bowling Green entered this season coming off four straight winning campaigns. They also had played in the previous three MAC Championship Games and captured the league crown last year. They’ve not come close to that kind of success this season and are assured of its first losing season since 2011. The Falcons' streak of four consecutive bowl game appearance will also go by the wayside. Nevertheless, they’ll be looking to build off momentum stemming from last week’s 38-28 upset win as an 11.0-point underdog at Akron.

College Football Betting Angle & Pick

Kent State is coming off a 37-21 home defeat at the hands of No. 14 Western Michigan. The loss dropped the Golden Flashes' season record to 3-7. Conversely, Bowling Green enters with a 2-8 record.

Any conference home team (Bowling Green) with a losing record that’s +3.0 to -3.0 playing after Game of the season vs. an opponent off a home loss by 15 points or more, and that foe Kent State) allowed 36 points or more in that previous game, resulted in those home teams going 17-2 SU & ATS (89.4%) during the past five seasons.

This game is a virtual tossup with all things being considered and the betting angle mentioned above was a deciding factor when making one of my college football week 12 predictions.
