San Diego State has played its best football at Qualcomm Stadium this year, which provides it point spread value against Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl.

Ground Attack
Navy might be the sharper team heading into this postseason affair, which is important to consider when making your College Football picks, as it registered a 17-10 victory over Army as 16.5-point favorites last Saturday.

The Midshipmen came into that affair as the nation’s leader in averaging 357.8 rushing yards, but they were limited to 205 yards on 55 carries—snapping a five-game streak of gaining 300-plus yards on the ground.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the squad is 3-0 SUATS as a road underdog of three or fewer points, with the OVER going 2-1 in those three opportunities.

Enjoying the Moment
San Diego State will participate in its school-record fifth consecutive bowl game after playing in just five over its previous 43 years, which can’t be ignored when looking over the College Football odds, as it has enjoyed great success under head coach Rocky Long.

The Aztecs won all six of their home games during the regular season at this venue—the sixth undefeated mark of its kind in school history as a Division I program.

It’s important to point out that the team has won its last eight home contests dating back to last year, but it has gone a mediocre 10-9-1 ATS in front of its fans since the start of the 2012 campaign.

Reynolds Wrap
The Midshipmen will need a big performance out of Keenan Reynolds, who has put together a 20-11 SU record under center, including a 5-1 mark versus service academy rivals.

Navy’s star offensive player is tied with Ohio State’s Braxton Miller for the most 100-yard rushing days among active signal-callers with 14, while he’s third on the school’s all-time list with 693 career rushing attempts.

Pump(hrey) It Up
Sports bettors need to be aware that the Aztecs are more than capable in out-rushing the Midshipmen in this matchup, as Long has built a reputation of stopping the option defensively, while running back Donnel Pumphrey should lead the attack on the offensive end.

Pumphrey has put together nine 100-yard rushing games, including a 261-yard performance in San Diego State’s 38-7 home win over San Jose State to close out the regular season on Nov. 29.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Aztecs as one of their top CFB picks, as they’ve gone 9-5 ATS versus teams with a winning record the last two-plus seasons.
