SEC Battle in Dixie
The #3 ranked “Ole Miss” Rebels will host the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday in Oxford. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN, and the opening kickoff is slated for 7:00 PM ET. These teams last met in 2010. According to college football betting odds, “Ole Miss” is a 16.5 point favorite, and the posted total is 46.5.

Road Miseries for the Volunteers
Since the start of the 2011 season, Tennessee has gone a miserable 1-13 on the road, and that includes 0-5 SU&ATS as an underdog of 16.0 or more when facing an opponent coming off back-to-back wins. There’s no doubt this is a very improved Tennessee team despite their average 3-3 record. Their losses came at Georgia by 3, at Oklahoma by 24, and versus Florida by 1. The Volunteers defense has been stellar in the first half of the schedule, ranking 16th nationally by allowing just 316.3 points per game, and 8th against the pass (160.2 yards per game). Senior quarterback Justin Worley has been solid, completing 63.3% of his pass attempts, and has thrown for 1388-yards in addition to 12-touchdowns.

More Special every Week
It’s been a terrific start to the season for Ole Miss. The Rebels haven’t only gone a perfect 6-0 so far, but they’ve also defeated the then #1 ranked team in the country Alabama Crimson Tide two weeks ago, and routed the then #14 Texas A&M Aggies last week on the road in front of 106,000 strong at College Station. There’s still a plethora of football left to play, but that certainly doesn’t diminish what they’ve accomplished so far. This is a potential spot that the Rebels might get caught looking ahead. The next two weeks will find them playing at LSU, and then hosting Auburn. However, if they proved anything last week besides how good they are, it’s that this is a locked in and focused football team. Since Hugh Freeze took over the head coaching duties at the start of the 2012 season, the Rebels have gone an extremely profitable 7-1 ATS as a home favorite of 4.0 to 42.0, and won all of those games straight up by an average of 26.0 points.

College Football Betting Angle
Any undefeated conference home favorite of 16.0 or more, coming off an away underdog straight up win, has gone 24-4 ATS (85.7%) since 1989.
