Our NCAA football betting odds guru has gone 18-5 ATS in the first 6-weeks this season. Be sure to read his revealing college betting preview article on the Big 12 contest between Oklahoma State/Kansas, which includes a free pick on the point-spread.

Cowboys Ride into Lawrence for Big 12 Battle
The Kansas Jayhawks will entertain the Oklahoma State Cowboys at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence. The game will be televised by Fox Sports1, and the opening kickoff is slated for 4:00 PM ET. According to college football odds Oklahoma State is a 21-point favorite, and the posted total is 50.5.Thee teams have met in each of the past 2-seasons with Oklahoma State winning the encounters, and both games stayed under the total.

Cowboys Heating Up
The Cowboys gave the top ranked Florida State Seminoles all they can handle in their opening game before falling short in a 37-31 loss. They’ve since reeled off 4 straight wins in a row since, and all of those victories have come in an impressive manner. The Cowboys suffered a huge blow in their 2nd game of the season when junior starting quarterback J.T. Walsh was lost for the season after suffering a broken leg. Enter red-shirt junior Daxx Garman, who had yet to play in any game as a college football quarterback entering this season. Garman hasn’t only stepped up for the Cowboys, but he’s performed at a very high level. Entering this week Garman had thrown for 1200-yards, completed 58% of his attempts, good for 9-touchdowns, and just 4-interceptions. The Cowboys must guard against looking ahead to their next game, coming in Fort Worth, Texas versus nationally ranked and currently undefeated TCU.

Jayhawks Football Program on the Decline
Things have gone from bad to worse for the Jayhawks since they hired former Notre Dame head coach and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss in attempt to turn things around prior to the start of the 2012 season. It didn’t go anywhere near as planned would be a vast understatement. Under the guidance of Weiss, the Jayhawks went a pathetic 6-22, before being fired following a 23-0 home loss to Texas 2-weeks ago. The Jayhawks have now gone 2-41 in their last 43 conference games. On a more positive note, they’ve gone a very profitable 9-3 ATS in their last 12 conference games as an underdog of 17.5 to 27.0. They come off a road cover at West Virginia last week, getting inside the number as a 27.0 point underdog during a 33-14 loss. Although the game wasn’t as competitive as the final score may have indicated. West Virginia held a 557-176 advantage in total yards. One of the Jayhawks touchdowns came on a 76-yard punt return in the 4th quarter, and Kansas was aided by 3 Mountaineer turnovers. Kansas has seen each of its previous 4-games go under the total, and they scored a grand total of 4 offensive touchdowns combined in the process.

Final Analysis
The only thing that can stop Oklahoma St. in this game is themselves. The one concern with laying this many points on the road is complacency, and the fact the Cowboys can be caught looking ahead to a road game versus a nationally ranked team coming up next. As bad as the Jayhawks have been this season, they’re a +3 in turnover margin differential. The Cowboys have only committed 6-turnovers in their first 5-games, but they’ve only created 6 as well. At the end of the day, the Cowboys are the vastly superior offensive team, and this game has the potential of becoming very ugly. Although I’m a bit reluctant when it comes to laying this big of a number on the road, I can’t make a case for the home underdog in their current state of affairs. My smallest of leans goes to the road favorite for my free college football picks
