The Oklahoma State Cowboys have demonstrated the ability to score points quickly this season, which will lead to a blowout victory over the Iowa State Cyclones Saturday.

Falling Short
Iowa State is 1-3 SU and 2-1-1 ATS through four games of the season, as it looks to bounce back from a 49-28 defeat to the Baylor Bears as 21-point home underdogs last Saturday, while losing the statistical battle by a triple-digit margin for the third time.

The Cyclones are 4-21 SU against ranked opponents under sixth-year head coach Paul Rhoads, which is important to consider when making your Week 6 college football picks, especially since they’ve dropped nine-straight games in that situation.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the program is 1-7 SU and 3-4 ATS when getting 10.5 to 21 points, with the OVER going 5-3 in those eight opportunities.

Throwing the Deep Ball
Oklahoma State has rattled off three wins in a row since a season-opening loss to top-ranked Florida State, while sports bettors will find that the OVER has cashed in its first four games of the campaign.

Daxx Garman has done a remarkable job in filling in for injured quarterback JW Walsh, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds page, as all eight of his touchdown passes have traveled at least 15 yards through the air down field.

College football handicappers will find that the team is 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points since 2012.

Richardson Is the Key
Iowa State’s offense is averaging just 312 yards despite welcoming back 10 starters from a season ago, but the unit is still capable of moving the football with Sam Richardson under center.

The junior is completing a career-best 61 percent of his passes, while also pacing all players in gaining 218 yards on the ground.  His 24 career touchdown passes is tied for seventh all-time in school history.

Getting After It On First Down
The Cowboys have one of the more athletic defensive units in the Big 12 Conference, which has allowed the group to limit opponents to three yards or less on 58.3 percent of their first down plays.

Oklahoma State ranks 11th nationally in averaging eight tackles for loss per game, with the defensive line being the main strength—recording 18.5 of the team’s 32 tackles for loss and 9.5 of its 13 sacks to this point.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Cowboys as one of their NCAA football predictions, as the favorite has covered the number in eight of the last nine games in this series, with the Cyclones losing their last three trips to Stillwater by an average of 31 points.
