College football enters week 5 & after analyzing the odds I have a Underdog college football pick for Saturday's action when the Arizona Wilcats +14 visit the Stanford Cardinal.

Arizona vs. #20 Stanford (-14, O/U 63)
Interestingly enough, the Arizona Wildcats haven’t played their Pac 12 foe, Stanford Cardinal, since 2012. Stanford’s quarterback situation was a little different back then and they put up some impressive offense in a 54-48 win at home. Speaking of offense, last week UCLA put some up against Arizona in a 56-30 win. It was a hard landing for the Wildcats after dominating their first three lowly opponents with a scoring margin of 163-65. Even though Arizona lost the game they did put up 30 points on offense, which continued a streak of 30 or more points scored so far in this season.

That Arizona performance was marked by the loss of their starting QB, Anu Solomon, to a concussion partway through the game. He is listed as questionable and if he can’t go backup QB, Jerrard Randall, would get the call. Randall can scramble, amassing 128 yards on the ground against UCLA with a TD, but he went 4-16 in the air and was largely ineffective in the passing game.

After getting stunned on the road this year at Northwestern, the Cardinals have found renewed purpose for their season, winning three straight. The biggest win was against then #6 USC, as Stanford beat them on the road 41-31 to upend the Pac 12 race. Stanford put up 41 points in that game behind 195 yards rushing, and added a 324 yard rushing performance against Oregon State last week.

With the line going out to two touchdowns, we really need to assess if Arizona has a chance to keep things close. Ranked 16th going into the the UCLA game, the Wildcats were bit by the turnover bug which made the winning margin in that game much larger than it otherwise would have been. At the end of the day, I don’t think the line would be this big if Arizona hadn’t dropped all the way out of the rankings with that performance. Arizona has four cupcakes after this game on their schedule as well, so a win here would be huge in the overall scheme of things. For this reason, and because of the unfamiliarity between these teams, I’m inclined to take 14 points and Arizona in this game as one of my College Football Picks.
