Where do you think you can find a good opportunity in terms of betting on over-under games? We offer three picks on Saturday’s card for a look at some prime avenues.
Houston Cougars vs. Louisville Cardinals
This is a game in which the over looks very attractive. The main thing to note here is that you have two excellent offensive minds as head coaches, Tom Herman for Houston and Bobby Petrino of Louisville. Herman isn’t a household name in college football, but he was the winner of the Broyles Award last season as the top assistant coach in the country. He was the guide of Ohio State’s national championship-winning offense. Now, he’s a head coach who’s trying to make a name for himself. He has the kind of talent at Houston which can not only lead to a successful season, but to a high-scoring season for the Cougars. Matched against Petrino and a Louisville team which faced a very tough Auburn defense last week, Houston will have a hard time winning this game. However, the fact that Louisville played a very tough defense should make it comparatively easier for the Cardinals to score lots of points this week. This game feels like a 38-31 or 42-24 kind of game. Take the over.
College Football Pick: Over 54 at 5Dimes.
LSU Tigers vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs
The LSU Tigers did not get to play a game last week, due to bad weather. This is going to leave their offense rusty and sluggish on Saturday against Mississippi State. LSU’s defense has never really been a question mark. The Tigers should be very strong on that side of the line of scrimmage. With Mississippi State losing a lot of starters on offense from last season, the Bulldogs are going to struggle against the SEC West’s best defenses, and LSU has one of them. If you put together a rusty LSU offense and a good matchup for LSU’s defense against Mississippi State’s offense, you have the perfect formula for a very low-scoring game, perhaps one that won’t total more than 40 points. Take the under here.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors vs. Ohio State Buckeyes
Ohio State’s offense, as everyone got to see last Monday night against a good Virginia Tech defense, is hard to keep down. If Ohio State could score over 40 against Virginia Tech, it can score over 60 against Hawaii, at least over 50. As long as Hawaii scores at least 10 to 14 points in this game, there’s a very good chance that it goes over, and if the Rainbow Warriors score some late added touchdowns against the Buckeyes’ backups to get into the low 20s, it’s almost impossible to see this game falling under the number. It’s a great bet for the over.
