The Oregon State Beavers and Stanford Cardinal have lost five consecutive games between them, and each needs a win to stop the bleeding in this Pac-12 battle. We're breaking down the betting angles with our Oregon State-Stanford picks.

Oregon State and Stanford have both played brutal schedules recently. The Beavers' two-game losing streak is a product of losses to arguably the two best teams in the league (USC and Utah), while Stanford lost to three consecutive then-ranked teams (USC, Washington, and Oregon). Each will find respite in this week's opponent, as neither the Beavers nor the Cardinal are considered upper-echelon Pac-12 teams. But whose losing streak will continue, and whose will end?

Here are our top picks for the college football Week 6 game between Oregon State and Stanford (odds via BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Oregon State vs. Stanford Odds

Oregon State vs. Stanford Odds Analysis

Oregon State is universally a seven-point road favorite, but the line has ticked down from an opening number of -7.5 at many places. The largest wagers have backed the Beavers, who have attracted 58% of the bets and 88% of the cash.

DraftKings is the highest among all sportsbooks in terms of the total, as it currently offers an Over/Under of 57 points, while all other sportsbooks are at 56.5.

Oregon State vs. Stanford Picks

  • Spread: Stanford +7 (-110 via BetMGM) ★★
  • Over 56.5 (-110 via Caesars) ★★★
  • First Quarter: Over 13 (-105 via DraftKings) ★★

Oregon State vs. Stanford ATS Pick

Stanford +7 (-110) ★★

Nearly every trend and historical streak imaginable works against the Cardinal in this matchup. Stanford is 0-11 ATS in its last 11 games and has not beaten an FBS opponent in 10 straight. Now E.J. Smith is out for the season, a significant loss considering he led the team with three rushing touchdowns and 6.9 yards per carry (minimum of three attempts).

However, Tanner McKee has an NFL arm, and he has established one of the more underrated quarterback/wide receiver duos in the conference with Michael Wilson, as the two have hooked up for over 20 yards per completion and four touchdowns.

Stanford has won 11 of the previous 12 meetings between these teams, including the last six at home. Beavers quarterback Chance Nolan left last week's game with a neck injury, and redshirt freshman Ben Gulbranson promptly threw two interceptions in relief of the injured starter. The Cardinal have lost their last three games by an average of 16.3 points but will keep this game closer against a Beavers team that is not as talented as their previous three opponents and who could be without their starting quarterback.

Oregon State vs. Stanford O/U Pick

Over 56.5 (-110) ★★★

Stanford's run defense has forced a 10% stuff rate while ranking below average in predicted points added defensively, per collegefootballdata.com. Offensively, Stanford has had 18 scoring opportunities and has averaged 5.4 points per opportunity, well above average compared to the rest of the country.

While the box score does not indicate it, Oregon State had a solid day offensively in its 42-16 loss to Utah. The Beavers racked up 417 total yards and 21 first downs but were undone by four interceptions, two of which came in the red zone.

The Over has cashed in each of Oregon State's last five road games, and we like it to cash in a sixth straight in this matchup.

Oregon State vs. Stanford Prop Pick

First Quarter: Over 13 (-110) ★★

Utah leads the Pac-12 in scoring defense (14.4 ppg) and total defense (278.6 yards per game), but the Beavers controlled the line of scrimmage offensively, rushing for 130 yards in the first half on 5.2 yards per carry. We expect them to hit Stanford in the mouth early with their physicality, forcing David Shaw's team to take a more aggressive approach earlier than it usually would.

Oregon State has struggled with eight interceptions over the last two games, but Stanford has forced just two turnovers this year, a major reason it has the worst turnover margin in the country. We should see plenty of clean possessions early in this one.
