Early action brought significant moves on some high-profile games (can you say Gators vs. Bulldogs?), while bettors determined the "real" favorites after oddsmakers picked  opponents as original chalks.

Early Money Sees Big Moves and Flip-Flops

The early money at BetOnline for the NCAAF Week 9 betting board saw a variety of freakish of moves including a couple of major number moves, a pair of favorite flips, another Unranked Home Favorite (UHF) and a favorite flip to a slight dog then back to its original number in the first couple hours of offshore betting on Sunday afternoon.

The two high-profile games which saw the big jumps were the Florida-Georgia SEC game on Saturday in Jacksonville (CBS, 3:30 p.m. ET) — The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party — and the Iowa-Penn State Big Ten clash in State College on Saturday (ESPN, 3:30 pm ET). After opening as big 10-point favorites, the Bulldogs had been bet down to -6½ (-115) over the Gators at press time while the Nittany Lions also opened up as 10-point chalks but were quickly whittled down to -4½ -115 for the game at Happy Valley against upstart Iowa.

One schizophrenic game which saw a line move from a favorite to a dog back to a favorite (below) was the Miami Florida-Boston College ACC showdown on Friday night (ESPN, 7 p.m. ET) which saw the Hurricanes open as -2-point favorites (-105), go to 2½-point underdogs 90 minutes later, only to return to 2-point chalks 2 hours and 4 minutes later.

NCAAF Week 9 Picks

Clemson -13½ -111, Texas -3 -105, Georgia -6½, Utah State -22 (Bookmaker), South Florida +8½ -119, Colorado State -2 -120 (Pinnacle)
