The Oklahoma State Cowboys have enjoyed great success in the Lone Star State recently, as they prepare to take on the Texas Longhorns Saturday afternoon.

Let’s take a closer look at the college football odds for this Big 12 Conference matchup at Texas Memorial Stadium, with the opening kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX.

Deep in the heart of Texas

Oklahoma State has won 10 of its last 11 games played in the Lone Star State (great for our college football betting), as it looks to extend its current five-game winning streak, which includes a 42-6 victory over the Kansas Jayhawks as 31.5-point home favorites last Saturday.

The Cowboys are 4-23 SU all-time against the Longhorns, but they’ve won two of the last three meetings in this series, with both victories coming in Austin.

The real McCoy

Texas has won six games in a row, including a 47-40 overtime victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers as 6.5-point road favorites last Saturday, with quarterback Case McCoy finishing with 283 passing yards.

The Longhorns have scored 30 or more points in their last six games, which matches the longest such streak for the program since 2009, while it ranks third in the Big 12 in averaging 445.3 yards per game of total offense.

Scoring and turnovers

College football handicappers will find that the Cowboys have scored 20 or more points in 48 consecutive games, which is the longest streak of its kind in major college football.

Oklahoma State has also won or tied in the turnover battle in 17 of its last 20 games, which is a very important statistical category in this matchup, considering both sides have a positive margin this season.

Winning after playing Oklahoma

The Longhorns have won all three of their games since their high-profile matchup with the Oklahoma Sooners, which isn’t very surprising due to the program posting a 75-18 record in regular season games following the Red River Rivalry since 1998.

Over the last two-plus seasons, Texas is 6-3 SU and 4-4-1 ATS in Weeks 10 through 13, with the UNDER going 7-2 in that situation.

I’m going to recommend that readers play the total, as the OVER is 6-1 in the Longhorns’ last seven games after throwing for 280 or more yards.

Oklahoma State has also gone above the number in 16 of its last 20 opportunities with betting odds of +3 to -3.
