The Fighting Irish are fighting for their college football playoff lives as they travel to face the Cardinal. We break down this important game with our Notre Dame and Stanford picks.
In what should be a final display of dominance from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before they await their college football playoff fate, we’ll see the 10-1 Irish face the 3-8 Stanford Cardinal. Notre Dame’s one loss this season came against the number four ranked Cincinnati Bearcats on October 2. They’re undefeated since then.
Stanford has endured a miserable season since their 3-1 start, immediately plummeting to a bottom-feeder after beating Oregon 31-24. The Cardinal would love to pull another major upset against their rival before their season is over.
Here are my picks and predictions for the Week 13 matchup between Notre Dame and Stanford (odds via BetMGM; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Notre Dame vs. Stanford Odds Analysis
Unsurprisingly, the money has come in heavy on Notre Dame. This line opened at -16.5 but has universally gone to -19 as 91% of the money is on the Irish. People expect a blowout for a good reason. The Irish are 8-3 ATS this season, while Stanford is 3-8.
After opening at 53, the total has dropped slightly. It can be had at 52 or 52.5 depending on the sportsbook.

Notre Dame vs. Stanford Betting Predictions
Notre Dame -19 (-110)
Part of Stanford's demise has been the massive slew of injuries that have plagued them. Eight players are still questionable for this week's battle and four others are out. The Cardinal already lack playmaking and have been walloped in each of their last three games, and it'll take a heroic showing to avoid a blowout this week.
Notre Dame has won their last three games with a cumulative score of 117-9. The sudden effectiveness of the run game has been a complete game-changer for the Irish, and the Cardinal have been horrific at slowing the run lately. I expect the Irish to easily clear 200 yards on the ground and pick apart the Cardinal in a beatdown.
Under 52.5 (-105)
This is all about the trends. Stanford has hit the under in four of their last six games with a total of Over 50. Notre Dame's defense has allowed them to go Under in three straight games, and four of five overall.
I'd be surprised if Stanford scores more than 10 points, which is all but necessary barring a barrage of points from Notre Dame that pushes the total Over itself. I'm projecting a 34-6 final, easily clearing the Under and the spread.
