The Nevada Wolf Pack and the Fresno State Bulldogs meet in the Mountain West, with both teams trying to make some noise late in the season. Let's analyze the college football odds for a free pick.

Momentum
Nevada defeated Hawaii in what turned out to be the next to last game for Hawaii head coach Norm Chow, who was fired on Sunday. Nevada did not destroy the Rainbow Warriors, but it did enough to win by two scores, 30-20. The Wolf Pack have played games relatively close this season. They came out on the short end against UNLV but were able to push forward on this one. For a team which made a bowl game a season ago, this year has represented a step backward. However, with a 4-4 overall record entering November, this team still has legitimate bowl aspirations. That’s something which can motivate this team on Thursday and beyond.

Fresno State started well in its most recent game on Oct. 24 at Air Force. The Bulldogs, playing on the road, were not intimidated at the start. They jumped out to a 14-0 lead and appeared to have a real chance of pulling the upset. However, after allowing one touchdown later on in the first quarter, the Bulldogs were not able to get any of their momentum back. Air Force scored 14 points in both the second and third quarters to pull away and win the game, 42-14. Fresno State was completely shut out after those two early scores. It was a dispiriting way to end a game that began in such a promising way.

Line Moves
The college football odds started with Nevada as a 4.5-point favorite, and that line has stayed in place. Remember that it’s still very early in the week. Nevada is not an impressive team, but Fresno State doesn’t warrant a lot of trust. Uncertainty prevails right now.

Notable Injuries
Nevada has offensive lineman Joey Anglemire listed as questionable for this game with a knee injury. Wide receiver Brayden Sanchez is out for the season with a knee injury. Linebacker Travis Wilson is questionable with a shoulder injury. Tight end Matt Moen is out for the season with an undisclosed condition. Offensive guard Adam Khouri is out indefinitely with a concussion.

Fresno State has backup quarterback Chason Virgil listed as being out for the season with a collarbone injury. Backup quarterback Ford Childress is out for the season with a spleen injury. Linebacker Tobenna Okeke is out indefinitely with a knee injury. Linebacker Michael Lazarus has been dismissed from the team. Offensive tackle Bobby Johnson has been suspended from the team.

Handicapping The Game
The Fresno State start against Air Force suggests that the Bulldogs are starting games with confidence and a sense that they’re well prepared. Nevada is not nearly as strong as Air Force, and this game is in Fresno. Take the Bulldogs plus the points for your college football picks.
