Everyone needs a little MACtion in their life. Check out our NCAAF picks of the day in the Central Michigan-Eastern Michigan finale and Ball State at Miami University clash.

    Central Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan

Each team is bowl eligible at 6-5, but the winner is guaranteed a postseason appearance. Expect this to be motivation for both teams in their final regular-season contest.

The Chippewas made headlines earlier in the year with a controversial Hail Mary winner at Oklahoma State (30-27). The upset road victory was part of a points explosion to begin the season. Since starting MAC play, though, the offense has all but dried up, averaging 21.9 points per game. Through the first four weeks, two of which were against Power 5 opponents, the team posted 39.5 per contest.

To be fair, Central Michigan has squared off against all of the leading scoring defenses in the conference, yet to play any from the bottom four.  That’s where Eastern Michigan stands, allowing 31.2 points per game. Central Michigan has put up 34 points or more in four of five games against units allowing more than 30 points per game since head coach John Bonamego took over, two of which occurred this season at Virginia (35) and at Northern Illinois (34).

On the other side, just two of Eastern Michigan’s wins have come against scoring defense allowing fewer than 30 points per game in six played. It averages 27.0 points per game in this situation. Expect both teams to push 30 points, but only one gets there: lay the points with Central Michigan for your college football picks.

     Ball State vs. Miami University

Miami is in the midst of a five-game win streak after going winless through the first six weeks. The RedHawks last enjoyed a run this long in the 2010-11 season when it closed out the year with six victories, capped by a 35-21 win over Middle Tennessee in the GoDaddy.com Bowl. Miami is rewarding bettors during the present stretch also, covering the spread in each. It’s their best run against the number since 1997.

The RedHawks are a defense-first team. Expect the unit to shine in their final home game with plenty to play for. A victory will make them bowl eligible for the first time in seven seasons. Head coach Chuck Martin’s unit allows 5.2 yards per play, ranking 28th in the FBS.

Miami is best against the run and should counter Ball State’s efficient rushing attack. All four of the Cardinals’ victories have come against teams allowing 250 or more rushing yards per game entering the contest. They average 34.3 points per game in this spot. Versus those allowing fewer, they post 24.3 per contest. Miami yields 128.9 per game, 23rd fewest nationally.

Miami has its struggles on offense and may find it tough to separate from Ball State. It has scored more than the opposing defense’s average allowed twice all season. Its 350.2 total yards per game ranks 107th in the country. This game will like stay below 50 points combined. Under is the NCAAF pick.
