Find out why this NCAAF handicapper is will be siding with the road team when Ohio State faces Minnesota. Both have been playing great football this season, but are the Buckeyes on a different level?

Odds Overview
A while back, the Buckeyes were favored by as many as 14.5 points, but that number is all the way down to 12. That number can be found at every major college football betting sportsbook that's out there -- we use SBR's updated odds page as our top reference.

A total has yet to have been released for the game. Both teams have been good defensively, ranking in the top 25 in points allowed, but Ohio State's offense has been ridiculously efficient, so making a play on the O/U could be tricky.

Minnesota Golden Gophers
On the season, the Golden Gophers are sitting at a very respectable 7-2, with their two losses coming on the road to TCU and Illinois. Minnesota is 4-1 in the conference and is currently battling with Nebraska and Wisconsin for the top spot in the Big Ten West.

Spirits have to be high for the team right now after a thorough 51-14 beatdown of Iowa last weekend.

QB Mitch Leidner was incredibly efficient, completing 10-of-13 passes for 138 yards and four touchdowns, three of which were caught by tight end Maxx Williams, who finished with five catches for 46 yards. Leidner added a team-high 77 rushing yards, with RBs David Cobb and KJ Maye combining for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Rodrick Williams Jr. also found the end zone in the rout.

Leidner has done a great job of managing the offense. He's not being asked to do too much, and his running ability has opened things up for the rest of the offense. When you've got a running back like Cobb, it's wise to let him do the dirty work. The Golden Gophers have averaged an excellent 224.3 rushing yards per game this season.

A reasonably good defense has also helped Minnesota, with the team ranked #24 in the country by allowing only 21.3 points per game. That unit will be pushed to the limit by the Buckeyes this weekend, however.

Ohio State Buckeyes
Since a surprise home loss to Virginia Tech back in early September, the Buckeyes have been on a tear.

Ahead of the weekend, Ohio State has reeled off seven straight wins, and a lot of them haven't even been close. The offense has been clicking on all cylinders, and enter Saturday averaging a ridiculous 46 points per game. That's the fourth-best mark in all of college football.

That's not to say it's all been easy for the Buckeyes. They needed to be at their best this past weekend in a highly entertaining 49-37 road win over Michigan State.

Ohio State's offense racked up 568 total yards of offense, and of course QB J.T. Barrett was at the heart of it all. He had 300 passing yards and three touchdown throws and then added 86 rushing yards and two additional scores with his legs. RB Ezekiel Elliott had a great game too, running 23 times for 157 yards and two TDs in the win. Devin Smith led all receivers with six catches for 129 yards and a score.

Barrett has been outstanding all season long - he's throwns for 26 touchdowns against only seven picks, and has run for 582 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. Now Barrett and the rest of the Buckeyes will see if they can keep it going against another Big Ten foe in Minnesota.

College Football Pick
As tempting as it is to take the points and back the Golden Gophers, we have a hard time fading Urban Meyer's Buckeyes.

Ohio State offense has been on a different level this season, and we don't see Minnesota having a lot of success stopping them, despite their encouraging recent results.

With Barrett and the Buckeyes rolling through the competition, putting up at least 49 points in six of their last seven games, we're picking the road chalk to come through. Add Ohio State to your collection of College Football Picks this weekend.

Free NCAAF Pick: Ohio State Buckeyes -12 at 5Dimes

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":, "sportsbooksIds":[19,43,227,1096,999996,93,238,123,139], "LineTypeId":5, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
