#17 Western Michigan Broncos (12-0, 8-0) vs. Ohio Bobcats (8-4, 6-2)

The undefeated Western Michigan Broncos are so good that they're an 18.5 point betting favorite in the Marathon MAC Football Championship. Can they keep the dream alive to stay undefeated as they square off against the Ohio University Bobcats? It appears like a forgone conclusion, but stranger things have happened.

Respect But Not Enough?

The pollsters can only do so much as the Broncos are undefeated, but their schedule can't compare to that of an Alabama. That said, the Broncos have made the AP Top 25 and can climb up the ranks with a win against Ohio at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. This is nearly a home game for the Broncos who don't need to play at home to beat their opposition. Western Michigan possesses a high-powered offense which averages 44.8 points on 503.6 yards per game while their defense is just as good, allowing just 19.2 points per game. The Broncos have a well-balanced offense which takes away from the predictability and leaves respective defenses guessing.

Nearly Perfect

Starting quarterback Zach Terrell is putting up Tom Brady-like numbers as he's thrown for 30 TD's and just 1 INT. His quarterback rating is 183.1. I don't care who the opposition is; staying mistake free to this degree takes major talent and Zach Terrell possesses this to go along with 6 rushing touchdowns. Don't expect Ohio's defense to stop Terrell or keep him in check. Nobody's been able to do it all season long. It's not going to happen now.

Jarvion Franklin and Corey Davis

Of course, it takes a good supporting cast to help Terrell do his job and 1000 yard rusher Jarvion Franklin and 1000 yard receiver Corey Davis have been producing all season long and are a major reason why Western Michigan is undefeated.

This is an offense that has produced 30 touchdowns on the ground and 35 through the air. 17 of those receiving touchdowns belong to Davis and Jarvion Franklin has produced 12 touchdowns on the ground to go along with 2 receiving TD's on 5.5 yards per carry. Even though Jarvion Franklin has tailed off a bit in his last 2 games, look for him to come up big, along with Davis as this is a huge game. Western Michigan's offense is like a well-oiled machine and their defense prevents the opposition from getting going.

While running back Dorian Brown and wide receiver Sebastian Smith are no slouches themselves, they're not in the class of the Broncos key offensive players who have 1st round potential and with Zach Terrell running the show, Ohio has absolutely no chance to keep this game competitive.

#8 Colorado Buffaloes (10-2, 8-1) vs. #4 Washington Huskies (10-1, 8-1)

In a game of two Top 25 ranked teams in the Colorado Buffaloes and the Washington Huskies, this game should be very competitive as both teams are looking to position themselves for a top-rated bowl game in this Pac-12 Championship while the Huskies still have hopes for a BCS National Championship with just 1 loss to their credit.

Time To Deliver

Huskies quarterback, Jake Browning, has been delivering all season long as his 40 touchdowns and 3162 yards passing indicates. He must continue to keep the tempo of this game fast and turn it into a track meet. That means looking for his top two receivers, John Ross and Dante Pettis, who have accounted for 30 receiving touchdowns.

While Ross has been the star 1000 yard receiver, Dante Pettis has been Browning's key target as of late as he's caught for 191 yards and 3 TD's in his last 2 games. One or both of these receivers will be a key factor in this game to compliment the running of 1000 yard rusher, Myles Gaskin.

Washington won't win this game without contributions from Gaskin. In his last 8 games, Gaskin has a rushing touchdown in 7 of them and aside from rushing over 1000 yards, he's averaging a healthy 6 yards per carry. Look for Gaskin to punish the Buffaloes defense as he's proven to be a consistent source of production all season long and the importance of this game is "off the chart".

With all of the hype about Washington and their chances to win the BCS Championship, it won't be an easy road as this Colorado team has had a tougher schedule and has come out the victor more times than not. Colorado has been destroying the entire Pac-12 division with 5 consecutive wins over Stanford, UCLA, Arizona, and nationally ranked Utah and Washington State. That is quite impressive!

Phillip Lindsay

There are many options for senior quarterback, Sefo Lifau, to choose from, but his best option in a game such as this is to choose a grinding 1000 yard running back like Phillip Lindsay. Lindsay is a compact runner that's been pouring it on as of late. In his last 4 games, he's reached the end zone on 7 separate occasions. For the season, Lindsay has rushed for 1136 yards and 15 TD's. Colorado should want to bleed the clock and Lindsay is their best option to do so.

While Washington has been dominant all season long and this is a huge game for them, the Buffaloes have faced some really stiff competition and exceeded expectations. For my College football pick, look for Colorado to cover the spread.
