Even though Saturday is the main focus where NCAA Football Week 3 is concerned, there's still 3 games on tap for Friday and these games may provide a nice profit going into the weekend.

#21 Baylor Bears (2-0) vs. Rice Owls (0-2)

"Putting the Owls to Sleep"
As a 30 1/2 point betting favorite across the board and being the far superior team in this matchup, the Baylor Bears might very well put this game "to bed" quite early. Rice has already played much lesser competition in Army and Western Kentucky and has been outscored by a total of 77-28. Facing a team in the AP Top 25 such as Baylor is even more of a difficult task for the Owls and this game appears to be a blowout right from the start. It's not a matter of "If Baylor wins", it's a matter of "How much will Baylor Win By?" and it should be a huge chunk of points.

Baylor hasn't had the most difficult of schedules in their first two games, but they took care of business, outscoring their opponents by a total of 95-20 as the offense is a great strength of this team.

Shock Linwood
He might be one of the only lead backs without a touchdown as the duties have been distributed fairly even due to the Bears having their respective games well in hand early, but Shock Linwood is the go-to guy in this offense. He's coming off of 2 -1200 plus yard rushing seasons and we should see the third one in his senior season. His 27 carries for 156 yards look somewhat modest, but as the competition get's tougher, Linwood's carries and numbers should increase. It might not happen here, but the Rice defense must focus on Linwood or this game will get out of hand quite early.

No Offense To Speak Of
I would be a little less harsh if Rice was playing powerhouses such as Alabama or LSU, but Army? Starting quarterback, Tyler Stehling, has gotten his opportunity to play behind center and run the Owls offense and thus far it's been a disaster. Sterling has thrown for just 383 yards with 1 TD and 3 INT's. He also leads the Owls in rushing with mere 81 yards and 1 TD. This ground game is pathetic and against a team like Baylor, Rice need's a good running game to bleed the clock and not allow the Bears offense onto the field.

It's only been two games, but Rice has had a disastrous 2 games against weak competition and Baylor should destroy the Owls in this matchup. Take Baylor with confidence as your college football pick.

Arizona State Sun Devils (2-0) at Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners (1-1)

A Shootout?
One thing that the Arizona State Sun Devils can do is score points as they've managed a total of 112 points in their first two games of the season. In their last game, they defeated a very gamed Texas Tech Red Raiders team, who were actually a 1 point favorite on the road, 68-55, therefore the Sun Devils are already battle-tested and passed with flying colors . The level of opposition in this matchup takes a dramatic drop for the Sun Devils as they face a Roadrunners team which consistently plays teams of lesser talent than ASU. Is this the blowout that most oddsmakers expect it to be?

"A Barrage of Ballage"
I watched the high scoring affair between ASU and TTU and the one thing that became plainly clear was that running back, Kalen Ballage, couldn't be stopped once he got his sights on the end zone. Ballage pounded in a massive 7 touchdowns into the end zone to go along with 13 carries for 137 yards. This will be difficult to top and Arizona State also possesses a 1000 yard runner in Demario Richard.

Thus far this season, Richard has 187 yards and a touchdown. Richard is a double threat as he can also catch passes out of the backfield and is a workhorse that can grind out yardage. I can't see Texas-San Antonio stopping either one of these runners, especially after the fierce test that the Sun Devils faced last week.

What the Roadrunners do possess is a great deal of depth and a quarterback who has been very accurate regarding the wide array of receivers that he has to choose from. Junior quarterback, Dalton Sturm, has been on the money as he's completed an amazing 72.9% of his passes and combine that with the running of sophomore back, Jalen Rhodes (117 yards, 1 TD) and the Roadrunners will do their best to keep this game competitive.

I can't see this game being competitive, especially after seeing ASU handle Texas Tech with persistence. Make Arizona State your pick in this matchup.
