While the UCLA Bruins (3-5) record is what it is, they've managed to limit every loss to a touchdown or less. Will this be enough to cover the double-digit spread against the #21 Colorado Bufffaloes (6-2, 4-1)?

According to 5Dimes Sportsbook, the Buffaloes are an 11 1/2 point betting favorite at home and currently, the total is unavailable for this game. Check in with as kickoff draws closer to get up to date odds with the betting total included.

Losing Close Games

While the 11.5 spread might seem like too little for a team with 5 losses to their credit, this is a UCLA team that took a ranked team in Utah to the limit last week, 52-45 in a loss and haven't lost a game by more than a touchdown all season long. Although the objective is to win the games, from a betting standpoint, UCLA's record is deceptive and they have the capability of covering this double digit spread.

The Element of Surprise

It's certainly not there in the case of the Bruins as this is a pure passing team. UCLA's leading rusher, Soso Jamabo, is the only Bruins runner to have over 200 yards and the UCLA running game as a whole, has just 684 overall yards as opposed to 2694 yards receiving with 18 touchdowns.

Will Josh Rosen Get His Job Back?

Starting quarterback Josh Rosen been out the last two games with a nerve injury to his shoulder. It's unclear whether he'll be able to play, but after the 464 yards and 5 TD's that senior, Mike Fafaul put up last week, even if Rosen is able to play Faufaul might provide the Bruins with the best opportunity to win. Faufaul did throw 4 interceptions, but he more than held his own against one of the better teams in the nation in the Utah Utes and the quarterback position for this game is a big question mark.

Phillip Lindsay

As for Colorado, they're coming off of a tough defensive battle against the Stanford Cardinal in which they picked up the 10-5 victory. Phillip Lindsay outdueled the great Christian McCaffrey at the running back position 131-92 in almost half of the carries.

Lindsay's ankle is a bit dinged up, but he's expected to play against UCLA and the Buffaloes need him in this offense. Along with the 745 yards and 9 TD's that Lindsay has produced on the ground, he's also a threat to catch the football out of the backfield. In his last 2 games, Lindsay has averaged 175 yards on the ground to go along with 3 overall trips to the end zone. Look for Lindsay to play well against a very ineffective UCLA defense.

Sefo Liufau

While Buffaloes quarterback ,Sefo Liufau, isn't going to throw for 300 yards every game, he offers the Buffaloes stability at the quarterback position as he makes wise choices as his 67.4 completion percentage with 7 TD's and 0 INT's indicates. He also possesses key targets Shay Fields (563 yards, 5 TD's) and Devin Ross (491 yards, 5 TD's) at his disposal. Liufau is good at converting the necessary 3rd down situations and is a big reason why Colorado is such a successful team.

Look for more of the same from the Colorado offense with Phillip Lindsay dominating the running game while Liufau makes the timely passes. As proven against Stanford, the Buffaloes don't care if they win ugly. It's all about picking up the W and against a team with a weaker defense in UCLA, we should see the Colorado offense open up more and see a massive amount of production from the Buffaloes offense. While UCLA has kept every loss close this season, there's quarterbacking issues and look for Colorado to capitalize.
