Our college football betting expert Ross Benjamin has gone a terrific 25-11 (69.4%) this season. He provides us with a football betting preview article on the game between Akron/Buffalo on Tuesday, and and includes a college football free pick.

Tuesday Night in the MAC
The Buffalo Bulls will host the Akron Zips on Tuesday at UB Stadium with the opening kickoff slated for 8:00 PM ET. The game will be aired by ESPNU. According to the College Football Betting Odds, Akron is a 3.5 point favorite, and there was no posted total at the time of this writing. These MAC teams haven’t met since 2011.

Rare Situation for the Zips
The Akron Zips will enter this game coming off the rare distinction of going 0-3 SU&ATS in their last 3-games, and they were a favorite in all of those contests. This will be just the 48th time since 1980 that a team is a favorite, and is coming off 3 straight up favorite losses in a row. During this recent 3-game losing streak, Akron has gone a futile -10 in the turnover department. The Zips have gone under the total in 7 of their 9-games this season, and that includes 5 of the last 6.

Bulls Football in Disarray
The Buffalo Bulls will enter this game having lost their last 4 in a row, and have gone 3-6 so far this season. It must be noted, that 2 of those 3-wins came at the expense of FCS opponents Duquesne and Norfolk State. Following their 37-27 loss as a 14.5 point favorite at Eastern Michigan on 10/11, then head coach Jeff Quinn was fired, and replaced on an interim basis by offensive coordinator Alex Wood. The coaching change has yet to make a difference, and as a matter of fact the offense which had been the team’s strength, has regressed in their 2-games with Wood as the head man. Buffalo averaged 33.0 point during their first 7-games, and scored only 14-points in each of the last 2-games. The most notable decline has occurred in the running game. The Bulls have rushed for 66-yards combined in the last 2-games, and have averaged a pathetic 1.4 yards per attempt. Putting that into perspective, they rushed for 139-yards or more in each of their first 7-games.

College Football Betting System
For your College Football Picks on this game, from my humble opinion. Any conference home underdog (Buffalo) of 4.0 or less, playing in game 10 of the season or beyond, coming off 2 conference SU&ATS losses in a row in which they scored 14-points or less in each, and they have a .142 or better winning percentage, versus an opponent with a winning percentage of .200 or better, has gone 11-0 SU&ATS since 1996. The home underdog won all 11 of those outright by an average of 11.1 points per game.

Free Pick: Buffalo +3.5 over Akron at 5Dimes

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":294372, "sportsbooksIds":[19,43,227,1096,999996,93,238,123,139], "LineTypeId":5, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
