The San Diego Aztecs are looking to go in for the kill as they've won 4 consecutive games, as they face a Colorado State Rams team which is coming off of a huge victory. Check our college football pick.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, October 31st at 3:30 p.m. EST at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. According to 5Dimes, the Aztecs are a 3 point road favorite and the total for the game is listed at 50 on the college football odds. My initial thought is the spread is too low and the Aztecs look appealing as they have a lot of incentive while CSU would basically need to run the table or could only afford 1 more lose on their resume to attend a legititmate bowl game.

San Diego State is a well balanced team with a solid offense and above average defense. They average nearly 30 points per game and allow 18.9 points per game. They will attempt to run the ball most of the time while wearing out their opponent and bleeding the clock. Colorado State is efficient in scoring, but their inability to stop the run may hurt them here as they allow over 200 yards of rushing per game.

Last Week's Recap
In their last game, San Diego State defeated Utah State and it was a basic blueprint of their season. The Aztecs had 429 yards in total and over 37 minutes in time of possession. They also didn't commit a turnover while Utah State had 4 turnovers. This is the type of game that they look to play every Saturday.

Donnel Pumphrey
While it's starting quarterback, Maxwell Smith's job to run the offense, Donnel Pumphrey is the entire offense as he leads the Aztecs in rushing and receiving.

For the season, Pumphrey is nearing the 1000 yard mark rushing with 10 TD's and has 249 yards and 1 TD receiving. This is an established player that ran for over 1800 yards last season and has run for 100 yards or more in his last 4 consecutive games. Let's not forget that the Aztecs have won their last 4 games. He is the key to winning and the Colorado State defense will not be able to stop him here.

Well-Balanced Attack
One thing that can be said for Colorado State is that they have a welll-balanced offensive attack. This is a team that can air it out as Nick Stevens has thrown for 1486 yards with 14 TD's and 6 INT's and he has 7 different different target with 100 yards or more this season. Wide receiver, Rashard Higgins is by no means a pushover. He caught for over 1700 yards last season and even a tough Aztecs defense won't be able to stifle him fully.

Senior Jasen Oden Jr. could possibly make this game interesting as he's coming off of an 89 yard game rushing with 2 TD's in the victory over Air Force. I expect him to make his mark in this game, but San Diego State has much more to play for and I love them as my college football pick in the game.
