Upsets happen on each week's college football betting card, and we've identified three for Week 9 where the smart play might be a money line wager on the underdogs.

So, it's Saturday morning and you're all set to spend your day stretched out on the couch watching college football, your favorite pizza delivery joint already in your contact list and ready to call when you get the afternoon munchies.

You check the television schedule to see when a few of the games you've already wagered on will air. Perhaps you have a play on a key SEC contest featuring Ole Miss on the road at Auburn. Your mid-afternoon viewing will be taken up by Clemson heading to Raleigh to take on North Carolina State, a game in which the Tigers are favored by 10½ on the college football odds.

And we all know you have an interest in the prime-time battle that pits No. 9 Notre Dame at No. 21 and undefeated Temple as the Owls look to prove they are legitimate contenders out of the American Athletic Conference. Confidence is running high on your plays, but you've still got a few dollars left and begin to wonder if there might be an upset or two to play on the money line. Never fear, SBR is here to offer up a trio of contests that seem ripe for a straight-up play to pad your bankroll.

OK State Makes Dangerous Trip To Lubbock
It's been a long week for the Oklahoma State Cowboys following the tragedy just before their contest against Kansas last Saturday. The somber mood around campus meant no celebratory mood around the 58-10 homecoming victory over the Jayhawks, and now the Cowboys have to make a trip to Lubbock to take on a Texas Tech Red Raiders team that is coming off a but-whipping at the hands of Oklahoma and eager to end Oklahoma State's unbeaten season.

ESPN has the telecast from Jones Stadium beginning at 3:30 PM (ET), and Bookmaker currently has the visiting Cowboys -2½ with a -135 money line.

There's no doubt that Oklahoma State is the better football team, but Lubbock can be a real hostile environment. The Red Raiders have also been an offensive juggernaut on their home turf, putting up 52 on the TCU Horned Frogs in a narrow loss just about a month ago. Texas Tech will need to play one of its better games on defense to stop the Cowboys' 6-game win streak in this series, and I believe the Red Raiders can to grab the outright win in a slight upset.

College Football Picks: Texas Tech +115

Season Turnaround To Stall For Longhorns
Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns are feeling pretty good about themselves after a slow, mistake-filled start to the season. The upset of Oklahoma three weeks ago helped fuel a 23-9 decision over Kansas State last Saturday, Texas' first cover as a favorite on the college football betting board this season.

Now Texas has to go to Ames to face the Iowa State Cyclones, and we've seen a lot of movement towards the Cyclones in this 7 PM (ET) broadcast carried by FOX Sports 1. The Longhorns opened as 8½ point chalk, that spread now 5½ at most shops charted by SBR's live college football odds, the money line currently -215 at Bookmaker.

Iowa State nearly pulled off upsets the past two seasons as the underdog of 7 and 10½ points. This time, they get the job done which is why I'm adding the Cyclones to my college football picks on a cool and possibly damp evening at Jack Trice Stadium.

College Football Picks: Iowa State +185

Huskies Host 'Cats To End Week 9
The final game in Saturday's lineup has the Arizona Wildcats making a journey to Seattle to battle the Washington Huskies. This clash follows the Texas-ISU game on FOX Sports 1 with the kickoff coming a few minutes past 11 PM (ET).

There hasn't been much movement on this number, Washington beginning the college football betting proceedings as 5 point chalk and still on that spread at Bookmaker. The Huskies are -205 on the money line with the take-back +175 for UA backers.

Once again, we have rainy conditions in the forecast and the Huskies might be without starting QB Jake Browning (shoulder). Arizona is coming off a home loss to Washington State and will be up for this one to pull the upset off.
