After losing in stunning fashion last week, the Wolverines will be eager to get back out on the field and try to redeem themselves with a win. How are the college football odds looking?

Odds Overview
Oddsmakers are expecting Michigan to bounce back in style this weekend, as the college football odds board shows the Wolverines favored by 13.5 points, with one or two books showing a line of 14.

Don't expect much offense in this game, as both teams have been leaning heavily on their defenses throughout the season so far. Michigan in particular has been extremely stout on the defensive side of the ball, and they should again have success against a Minnesota team that's not very intimidating.

Minnesota Golden Gophers
The Golden Gophers are still sitting with a positive record, as they're at 4-3 this season, but they had to have been disappointed with their showing in a 48-25 loss to Nebraska last week. For a team that has prided itself on strong defensive display, it was a bit shocking to see Minnesota falter so much on that side of things.

If we review from afar and go over the statistics, we can see where the Gophers have done well and where they've struggled. And, after perusing, it's clear they've been relying on their defense more than their offense. Minnesota has been the 28th-ranked total defense in college football this season, which has made up for an offense that's ranked 99th in total offense. Ranked 82nd and 91st in rushing and passing offense respectively, the Gophers haven't been executing well enough; simple as that.

At home and with a solid defense acting as the foundation, Minnesota will be feeling as if they have a good chance of being competitive in this matchup, even if the odds don't agree. QB Mitch Leidner, who's been kind of shaky this season (he's logged only seven passing touchdowns and has been picked off six times through seven games), will really need to step up and make some plays if the Gophers are to have any chance at all.

Michigan Wolverines
In both matchups against ranked opponents this season, the Wolverines have ended up on the losing side. They opened their regular season with a loss to Utah, but then turned up the gas and went on a dominant winning streak. That run came to an end in heartbreaking fashion this past weekend, however, in one of the craziest finishes to a game you'll ever see.

With the game all but won - Michigan held the lead with only seconds remaining - the unthinkable happened. The Wolverines punter lost control of the ball, and it was scooped by a Michigan State player and returned for a touchdown, resulting in an insane road win for the Spartans against their arch-rivals.

You better believe Michigan is angered with how that game ended, particularly since the game was at home, and they'll try to take it out on Minnesota this weekend. Out on the road this season, the Wolverines have lost to the Utes (24-17) and beaten Maryland (28-0).

NCAA Football Pick
We aren't feeling super confident in either one of these teams. We know how good the Michigan defense is, but this offense has had trouble performing consistently, and the Golden Gophers have actually done well defensively too.

That's making us believe the UNDER may be the best way to approach this game with our college football picks

This Wolverines defense is a truly elite unit, so we don't have any qualms with backing them to shut down Minnesota. The kicker here is that we don't trust the Michigan offense much at all, and Minnesota has been solid defensively. We simply don't see either team finding consistent success offensively, so we'll add the UNDER for Saturday evening's game.
