After a quiet Wednesday with just three matchups, Thursday presents a lot more action on the ice. There are 11 games to pick from on the NHL betting card and we’ve narrowed down our three favorite selections below:

Ottawa Senators vs. Montreal Canadiens

Odds: Canadiens -200
The Ottawa Senators goaltenders have started to perform very well over the last few weeks and as a result, the team has started to play a bunch of unders. Through their first 55 games of the season, the Sens average combined score in their games games was 5.7 goals. In their last 10, they’ve shaved nearly a full goal off of that, averaging just 4.8 per outing.

The Canadiens have dropped four of their last five games and their offense has disappeared. They’ve tallied just five goals in their last five games and are having a really tough time lighting the lamp. Carey Price continues to play well and given them a chance to win as he’s posted a .947 save percentage this month after posting a .949 save percentage last month. That being the case, I’ll go under with my NHL picks here.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Detroit Red Wings

Odds: Red Wings -210
The Columbus Blue Jackets have won two of three but on a greater scale, they’ve still lost eight of 10. The challenge seems to be stopping their opponents from scoring as the Blue Jackets have given up three goals or more in eight of those contests and have lost by more than a goal in seven of their last eight losses. Only three other teams have given up more goals per game than the Blue Jackets (3.19) since the All-Star break.

I’ll be looking to bet against them in this spot on Thursday when they visit the Red Wings, who have won four of six. The Red Wings are ranked eighth in both goals per game and goals allowed per game at home, and are 19-13 at home compared to Columbus’ 16-17 road record.

NHL Pick: Red Wings -1.5 at The Greek

Edmonton Oilers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Odds: Penguins -340
Surprise, surprise: the Edmonton Oilers are once again scuffling. They enter Thursday’s affair in Pittsburgh having lost five straight games and nine of 11. That’s not that big of a shock from a team that’s won just 18 of their 67 games this season. They’ve been giving up goals in bunches this month as they’ve allowed 12 in their last two games. So far, no team in the NHL is giving up more than 4.5 goals per game that the Oilers are allowing in March.

The Penguins have been playing well for the last couple of weeks, going 6-1-1 in their last eight games. Their offense has been cooking as they’ve averaged 3.26 goals per game in that span while giving up just 2.0 goals per outing themselves.

It’s a huge line in this spot, so I’m going to lay the puck line in this spot and expect the Pens to handle the Oilers easily.

NHL Pick: Penguins -1.5 at 5Dimes
