Considering the Terrapins have lost seven straight, they're going to be as desperate as ever to get a win this weekend versus Indiana. Will they be our top college football pick for Saturday?

Odds Overview
Maryland's been playing poorly, but they're still the favorites on the college football odds board for this Saturday's home meeting with Indiana. Currently the Hoosiers are favored by 2.5 points at most of the top sportsbooks.

The total is listed at an even 64 points right now, which may be higher than some may have expected to see. The Hoosiers have been scoring plenty of points and have been awful defensively, which is a recipe for a lot of points. The Terrapins are averaging just 26.0 points a contest leading into Saturday afternoon.

Maryland Terrapins
After winning two of their first three, the Terrapins have hit a wall in a big way, having dropped seven consecutive games. They have had to deal with an incredibly tough schedule, to be fair, as they've been matched up with four ranked teams during the losing run. They lost to Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa and Michigan State, and have actually managed to stay close in some of those.

Closing out games just hasn't been on the list of Maryland's specialties, and as a result they find themselves staring up at the rest of the conference. The Terrapins have still yet to win a game in conference play and are in dead last in the Big Ten East, right alongside this weekend's opponent.

Who should we be tracking most individually for Maryland? The quarterback situation, in all actuality, is a bit of a mess for this team, as neither Perry Hills or Caleb Rowe have been able to get it done on a consistent basis. Hills has been the more dangerous option because of his ability to with his legs, and that's always a nice dimension to have when you come up against a team that likes to get involved in shootouts like Indiana. Hills is going to have to make a lot of plays here.

Indiana Hoosiers
Just like Maryland, the Hoosiers are feeling down in the dumps because of a huge losing streak. They've lost six straight games, having also lost to four ranked teams along the way. Over the last couple of games, Indiana has fought valiantly in defeats to good competition in Iowa and Michigan, but they just haven't been able to cross the finishing line.

Jordan Howard has returned, however, and given the fact he's easily been the team's most dangerous weapon, it was a welcome return for the running back. He's run for 1,199 yards and nine touchdowns and also has a receiving score to his name, and he's been an absolute monster over the last two weeks, totaling over 400 yards and four touchdowns against the Hawkeyes and Wolverines, two strong defenses.

So long as Howard is healthy, the Hoosiers are going to be much more formidable offensively, and this weekend they finally are matched up with a team that's not quite as potent on that side of the ball. Maryland has been relying more on defense this season and just hasn't found much luck at all offensively.

NCAA Football Pick
The Hoosiers have been a mess lately, but the Terrapins have been just as bad.

Both teams are on long losing streaks, which makes it that more difficult to discern where the best value is on the college football odds board.

We are, at least, encouraged by Indiana's offensive production, and it looks like Howard is back and ready to contribute at full strength, which is a clear-cut boost, as he's been one of the most effective backs when healthy. Sudfield has always been a much more reliable quarterback than what the tandem of Hills and Rowe when given the chance, and that also gives us more confidence in the road team. Our college football pick is Indiana in this one.
