The Texas Tech Red Raiders just continue to get beaten up by the Big 12, with their defense getting picked apart. Oklahoma State is unbeaten. Check our college football pick inside.

Momentum
The Oklahoma State Cowboys took care of a bad Kansas team this past Saturday. They still haven’t lost this year and know that they’re one win away from entering November unbeaten, with a chance to play for everything – a conference championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff. Some of this team’s wins were really close, and a few of them have been decisive, but beating Kansas comfortably doesn’t really say too much about this team, because just about everyone is whipping the Jayhawks this season. Was that game good for Oklahoma State because it enabled starters to rest in the fourth quarter and didn’t punish the team physically, or was the game bad because it just didn’t represent much of a test and thereby won’t offer sufficient game preparation for tougher opponents? It’s hard to say.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are getting hammered. Their defense has now allowed more than 50 points in at least three games this season after being bombed by the Oklahoma Sooners on the road. The schedule has been nasty, but Texas Tech has never really been able to make any kind of stand, literally or figuratively, on defense. This is what has to change against Oklahoma State.

Line Moves
There are no college football odds for this game at most shops, as injury information is still being gathered and considered. However, 5Dimes is the only place open with -3. A decision might be made based on how much Oklahoma State is felt to be carrying around the grief from the tragedy at the school’s homecoming parade last Saturday, in which four people were killed and others were injured. You might think this has nothing to do with a football game, but four years ago, in November of 2011, a plane crash killed the head coach and assistant coach of the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team, and that night, the football team got upset by Iowa State, in a result which kept the Cowboys out of that season’s national championship game.

Notable Injuries
Oklahoma State has linebacker Ryan Simmons out for the season with a knee injury, and that’s it.

Texas Tech has wide receiver Ian Sadler listed as out indefinitely with a knee injury. Defensive lineman Talor Nunez is out for the season with a knee injury. Offensive lineman Justin Murphy is out for the season with a knee injury. Linebacker Andre Ross left the team. Defensive back Derrick Dixon is out indefinitely for personal reasons. Defensive back Jalen Barnes is questionable for this game with an undisclosed condition.

Handicapping The Game
Until Texas Tech’s defense shows it is capable, you should pick against the Red Raiders. Take the Cowboys with your college football picks.
