The Air Force Falcons are trying to gain momentum as a team. Colorado State have failed to seize momentum, and will be starting over, as we focus our attention to make a college football pick.

Momentum
The Falcons won by a 31-17 score over Wyoming, but they led by a score of 28-3 before coasting home for the win. The Falcons won this game more easily than the score might indicate. That’s a plus for them. On the other hand, Wyoming is one of the very worst teams in all of college football. Even if you blow out the Cowboys, you really haven’t achieved much. Air Force was coming off a disappointing loss to Navy in a service academy game, so the team was probably conserving some energy (and not being as determined as it could have been).

For Colorado State, it was an ugly home game last Saturday against Boise State. The Rams lost, 41-10, and looked completely outclassed against the defending Mountain West champions. In many ways, Colorado State is the inverse of Air Force, having lost a game but to a really strong team. Air Force won, but against a really weak team. The losing team – even a team which got blown out – might yet benefit from having played a much tougher team last weekend. That tough test could come in handy here.

Line Moves
This college football odds started as a pick ‘em, but that line has moved to 1.5 points for Air Force. The main reason for this movement toward Air Force is not that the Falcons won their most recent game, but that Colorado State was so easily blown away by Boise State at home. Sometimes, a line moves because the favored team is seen in a much more favorable light. Other times, it’s because the underdog is seen in a much more negative way. This is what is driving the move to Air Force on the line.

Notable Injuries
Air Force linebacker Connor Healy is out indefinitely with a knee injury. Quarterback Nate Romine is out for the season with a knee injury. Karson Roberts is his replacement.

Linebacker D.J. Dunn, Jr. is questionable for undisclosed reasons. Wide receiver Matt Galland is questionable for undisclosed reasons. So is defensive lineman David Harris. Tight end Garrett Griffin is questionable with a knee injury.

Colorado State has backup running back Treyous Jarrells off the team – he left for personal reasons. Offensive tackle Jeromy Irwin is out for the season with a knee injury. Linebacker Addison Gillam is questionable for this game with a knee injury. Running back Michael Adkins II is questionable with a hamstring injury. Linebacker Kenneth Olugbode is going to miss four to six weeks with a leg injury. Offensive tackle Sam Kronshage is questionable with a concussion.

Handicapping The Game
The fact that Colorado State played Boise State and Air Force played Wyoming has some merit, but Air Force has an offense which is very tough to defend, and Colorado State is not showing improvement over the course of the season. Stick with Air Force here for your college football picks.
