The Volunteers have lost three of their last four games heading into this weekend's road game against Kentucky. Let's check out what kind of college football odds are on offer for this SEC clash.

Odds Overview
Right now the college football odds favor Tennessee, with the Vols favored by 8.5 points at a lot of the major sportsbooks. Some sites even have the line as high as nine points, for those wanting to get the better number on Kentucky.

The total for this weekend's game in Lexington is holding steady at 57 points.

Kentucky Wilcats
The Wildcats have lost two in a row, as they dropped a close one 30-27 at home to Auburn before losing 42-12 on the road against Mississippi State last week. Kentucky was totally outmatched against the Bulldogs, as they had no way of stopping Dak Prescott from slicing through their defense. It was a shame to see the Wildcats not even be remotely competitive out on the road.

Looking at the statistics, we see Kentucky has been middle of the road both offensively and defensively. The Wildcats are 72nd in total offense and 76th in total defense, a stat which measures total yardage given up across both the passing and running games, and vice versa offensively. Patrick Towles has done some good thing in charge of the offense but has also been very inconsistent, which is why the Wildcats have already lost three times this season; all three defeats came against unranked opponents, for what it's worth.

We'll have to see if Kentucky can try to regain some pride after a shaky couple of weeks, and it'll help to be at home against a conference opponent. Will the Wildcats be able to improve upon 4-3 overall and 2-3 conference records this coming Saturday?

Tennessee Volunteers
Losers of three of four, desperation has set in for the Vols. They've suffered through some heartbreak already this season, and they went through more of it last week against a strong Alabama program. Whenever you lose by only five points on the road against the Crimson Tide, you have to be pretty proud of how you've played.

Throw in a four-point loss to Arkansas (at home), a one-point road loss to Florida (when the Vols had the lead late), and a double-overtime loss to Oklahoma, and you can see how Tennessee will feel hard done by this season. This is a team that could very well be undefeated at this point, if things had fallen their way.

But alas, here we are, with the Vols at 3-4 and in a big hole in the standings already. Fortunately for them, the schedule eases up over the second half of the season, as they'll face off with Kentucky, South Carolina, North Texas, Missouri and then Vanderbilt in the final regular season game. We anticipate a strong second half from Tennessee.

NCAA Football Pick
These two familiar foes are going to be very competitive with one another, but in the end we see Tennessee's talent level proving to be too much. It's a tricky spot, but the Vols should be able to win and do so by a comfortable margin, despite being the road team.

We love what the Tennessee offense has been able to do, and we can't lose sight of the fact these guys have stayed highly competitive in all of their losses this season, even losing a couple they had no right losing. They're pretty unlucky to be 3-4 on the season, to be honest, as they've performed at a high level for the most part.

With Dobbs and the running back duo doing great things, we're expecting the Vols to control this game from the outset, and we're not going to shy away from taking them to cover this large number. Back the Volunteers as your college football pick.
