The Zips have struggled offensively as well, but they've scored at least 10 points in all but one game during 2023. They’ve been outscored 214-99 across seven matchups against FBS teams. That's still bad, but it's far better than the Golden Flashes.
Zips quarterback DJ Irons is out for the season, so Jeff Undercuffler Jr. should get the start again Wednesday. He went 22-for-39 passing with 234 yards and two interceptions during Week 9 against Bowling Green. He’s certainly not as good as Irons, but Undercuffler has logged enough playing time that he should be able to get comfortable against a terrible Golden Flashes defense.
The total for this game is set at 38.5 You could consider taking the Under, but these defenses are so bad that at least one side will score easily enough. We expect that team is more likely to be the Zips than the Golden Flashes, especially with this game being played in Akron.
