Kent State continues to fight hard on the gridiron despite its poor record, which makes it a dangerous road underdog in the betting odds against Bowling Green.

Gaining Experience
Kent State is a disappointing 1-8 SU and 3-6 ATS through nine games under second year head coach Paul Haynes, which is important to consider when making your Week 12 College Football Picks, as 20 different players have made their first career start in 2014.

The Golden Flashes offensive line has given up only one sack of sophomore quarterback Colin Reardon in the last five games—allowing him to move into sixth place in school history with 3,841 passing yards since arriving on campus. Over the last two-plus seasons, the team is 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS in November, with the UNDER going 6-3 in that situation.

Virtually Wrapped Up
Bowling Green needs to win just one of its remaining three games to land a spot in the Mid-American Conference title game, which can’t be ignored when looking over the College Football betting Odds, as it looks to improve upon its 15-1 SU record against East Division competition since 2012.

The Falcons have also proven victorious in their last six games during this particular calendar month—outscoring opponents by a 224-34 margin over that span. It’s important to point out that the squad is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points in its last four opportunities.

A Solid Performance
The Golden Flashes suffered a 30-20 defeat to the Toledo Rockets 13-point home underdogs last week, but they did manage to gain a season-high 171 rushing yards in that affair.

Kent State should be able to run the football in this MAC matchup, as Bowling Green has allowed opponents to average 201.6 yards on 41.4 carries this year.

Greene is Banged Up
The Falcons are going to have a difficult time covering this number if star running back Travis Greene is limited by an ankle injury that he suffered in last week’s 27-10 triumph over Akron as 3.5-point road underdogs.

Greene gained 1,594 yards and scored 11 touchdowns a season ago, but he’s managed just 644 on 128 carries in nine games in 2014.

Prediction
I’m going to recommend that readers back the Golden Flashes as one of their top football predictions, as they’ve gone 3-0 ATS as underdogs of 10.5 to 21 points the last two-plus seasons.
