It's been a truly miserable season for Hawaii so far, and college football odds aren't expecting things to get much better this weekend at home to San Jose State.

Odds Overview
Depending on where you look, the college football odds show San Jose favored by either 10 or 10.5 points. Sure, the Spartans have won just four times (4-6) this season, but it doesn't seem to matter when you face Hawaii, a team that's struggled immensely. Even at home, the Rainbow Warriors are big-time underdogs.

If you're more interested in trying to beat the total with your play, that number can be found at 53.5 points right now. Combined these two teams are averaging 51 points between them, so that O/U seems about right.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors
The Rainbow Warriors actually had a reasonably encouraging start, as they won two of their first three games, with the one loss coming, understandably, against Ohio State.

Since that point, however, Hawaii has been awful, losing eight straight games to fall to 2-9 on the season. The Rainbow Warriors have been competitive here and there during the losing streak, but lately they've been getting blown out on a consistent basis, which gives us plenty of cause for concern when it comes to their chances this Saturday.

Over their last three games, Hawaii has gotten outscored 141-42, and they're ranked 99th and 111th in scoring offense and defense, respectively. As you can see, there's not much this team is doing right, and that's why the college basketball odds are as severe as they are. Paul Harris has been one of the few offensive threats for the team, having registered close to 800 rushing yards and four scores on the season to this point.

San Jose State Spartans
Losers of three of their last four, the Spartans need a boost in confidence, so they'll be welcoming this week's matchup against a team that hasn't won in months. San Jose State is 4-6 on the year, with the team's last two losses (against BYU and Nevada) coming by a combined total of four points.

San Jose State just hasn't been able to close out games recently, and that's what's hurt them. This weekend, though, the Spartans are likely to ride Tyler Ervin and hope he can run all over a bad Hawaii defense. Ervin has run for 1,303 yards and 12 touchdowns on 233 carries, and he's chipped in with 245 receiving yards and an additional two receiving touchdowns as well. We know who the focal point of San Jose State's attack will be this weekend.

With dual-threat Kenny Potter also making some big plays in the offense, we look for the Spartans to have their way and control this game against Hawaii. But, will they able to cover the large number away from home?

NCAA Football Pick
We anticipate seeing a relatively low-scoring game in all, which you would think seemingly favors the big home underdog. If not much offense is expected, maybe Hawaii will be able to keep this game competitive enough to cover for those that back them.

There hasn't been a ton to get excited about when it comes the Rainbow Warriors though, and we just can't find the confidence necessary to advise a play on them, regardless of the fact they'll be on their own field.

Despite their losing record, the Spartans have been far more competitive throughout the season, and even most of their losses have been decided in a close manner. They'll have the best offensive player on the field in Irvin, who figures to have a big game this weekend. With him leading the way, we'll be on San Jose State as the college football pick to cover the number on the road.
