Georgia rolled over ULM in their 1st game & covered a big boy spread. They once again find themselves as chalky favorites on the odds board, this time vs. Vanderbilt.  Do we trust them to cover again?

Georgia vs. Vanderbilt
The glory glory to old Georgia song is cranked up rather high in Athens now. It is the typical tune the dawgs fans love to hear early in the season. After an easy win/cover over ULM as a 35 point chalk, 51-14, UGA is looking for more blood against a Vanderbilt team that barely packed a punch at home in its 1st game. Pinnacle sports book currently is keeping UGA at -20.5 with the opening total having dropped from 56 to 54. The public is riding the Dawgs so far at a 74.4%, according to the consensus in the college football odds market.

In Georgia's first game they had to call it a finish early midway through the 4th Qtr due to weather, not the slaughter rule. The Bulldawgs came out humming taking a 35-0 1H lead with running back Nick Chubb running for 2 scores, Ketih Marshall running for a 3 yard score and TD passes from both Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey. ULM finally got a few scores, but it was all UGA all day in this one. For Georgia this is how it is suppose to work. The offense was efficient and effective from the start, the defense didn't allow a thing and the reserves got their chances to get some meaningful playing time. The defense allowed nothing but short flat passes. On Offense Greyson Lambert was terrific, because he was given plenty of pass protection. Nick Chubb's final stats were 16 carriers for 120 yards and 2 TDS. Lambert was 8 for 12 throwing the ball with 141 yards and 2 TDS. It is easy to say UGA is on its high horse riding into Nashville to face a dejected Commodores squad.

It is actually very challenging to gather information on Vanderbilt football. Its pretty bad when local Tennessee media's headline for a Vandy's football team reads "MISERY LOVES COMPANY," This is is a reference to there old coach James Franklin who also lost his opening game with Penn St. Its always dangerous to read into a season after an opening loss like the one Vandy suffered against WKU, but this L cannot be disregarded. A Vanderbilt program that lost five games by three or more TDS a year earlier must figure out ways to close the deal when the opportunity presents itself. Don't look for many opportunities vs the highly ranked/favored University of Georgia Bulldawgs. Granted the Vandy Defense looked much much better against WKU with Mason calling the shots. This is referring to 2nd year HC Derek Mason. You have to question Mason's ability as a head coach, but give the guy his due: He has a gift for defensive strategy and in-game adjustments on that side of the ball We can expect improved adjustments on that side of the ball. We can expect improved play from Vandy starting QB Johnny McCrary, but in short sum it will be a long season for Vanderbilt University football.

We see nothing changing this week, as the heavily favored Bulldogs step into Nashville for a 3:30 set showdown vs. Vandy. Take Georga with you college football pick Saturday as the Bulldawgs will dominate the Dores all day long!
