Week 6 of College Football starts tonight at Jonesboro, AR when the Red Wolves host the Georgia Souther Eagles. Joe Gavazzi finds that this game has an interesting betting angle you can't miss out.

GA Southern (-7) vs Arkansas St.

We begin the week with this Wednesday night Sun Belt selection, when the Eagles of GA Southern soar into Jonesboro, Arkansas to take on the Red Wolves. Though these teams have competed for Sun Belt superiority since GA Southern joined the league 2 years ago, they have yet to face off against each other in that timeframe. In those last 2 seasons, GA Southern is 14-2 SU in Sun Belt play, while Arkansas St. is 13-3 SU in league action.  That includes the Sun Belt crown last year with an 8-0 SU record.  In this Wednesday Night Delight, I will show you why the seasons have begun oh so differently for these teams. And why GA Southern, based on the information you learned about Double Rushers, will cruise to a double digit win tonight.

Now departed Arkansas St. QB, Fredi Knighten, was the straw that stirred the drink for the Ark St. offense.  In the last 2 seasons, the Wolves were 200 Club members, averaging a combined 38 PPG. Without his guidance, the Wolves have struggled mightily on the offensive end, scoring no more than 23 points and just 17 PPG in the 0-4 SU ATS start. They reached the nadir of their discontent with a 28-23 loss on this field to C. Arkansas two Saturdays ago as 14 point home chalk. Major concern about playing AGAINST them is that 3rd year HC Blake Anderson could have them highly motivated, believing this inaugural Sun Belt game is the start of a new season for the Red Wolves.  But, a running game defense, allowing an average of 239 YPG overland, implies their chances of being STEAMROLLED by the GA Southern ground game is a major probability.

The recent architect of the GA Southern overland game, Willie Fritz, has departed for Tulane.  In his place is 1st year HC Tyson Summers, who is joined by the No. 1 recruiting class in the league.  Good news for Eagles backers is that he has not changed the nation’s recent rushing offense in recent seasons, which has gained at least 360/6.3 in each of the last 4 years.  The Eagles have already started 2-0 SU in Belt play with wins over S. Alabama and LA Monroe, vaulting them into a tie with Troy for the top of the loop.  Those two, along with App St., figure to challenge each other for league superiority.  Following those 2 league wins, Southern faced off with a 5-0 SU ATS W. Michigan team, who got their revenge against the Eagles with a 49-31 win.  Keep in mind that the Eagles are 5-1 ATS/loss and 6-2 ATS away!

This game has Double Rusher written all over it, giving us a 75% chance to cover this single digit number.  I invite you to put the College Football odds in your favor and join me in my College Football pick on GA Southern tonight.
