After a great Thursday night matchup between Louisville and NC State, Friday is here -- and although the two matchups may not be as intriguing purely from a fan's standpoint, the betting value for these games is high.

Memphis at Connecticut (+14.5, 72)

Memphis is in a tight spot tonight if it wants to keep pace in the AAC. A conference showdown with the Huskies looms, and by all accounts this one is going to be a track meet. Memphis quarterback Riley Ferguson will need to play a clean game if the Tigers want to avoid losing two straight.

Ferguson had an atrocious showing last week, throwing three picks against UCF in what was kind of an anomaly game for the usually strong Tigers' turnover ratio. However, the bounce-back could be coming tonight for a few reasons.

The Connecticut defense has been terrible over the last three weeks, and coming off a loss I think Mike Norvell will have his kids ready to play in the hostile environment. Plus, as long as Ferguson gets his head out of his you know what, I like him to bounce back as well. The Huskies defense has allowed an average of 42.7 points in losses against SMU, East Carolina and Virginia, and I expect the Tigers to push 40 points as well.

However, the Huskies offense is one the Tigers will need to worry about. Behind quarterback Bryant Shirreffs, UConn's passing game has been very good this season and somewhat under the radar. If the Huskies put up a good offensive showing in this one, those hoping to make money laying the points with Memphis might be disappointed. It’s why I’m going with a play on the over in this one. Despite the high total, I like both offenses to go up and down the field on one another.

Boise State at BYU (+8.5, 47)

Speaking of teams that need a win, the BYU Cougars everyone! This winless ATS team could really turn its fortunes around in 2017 with a big upset win over Boise, but can we really expect that from an offense averaging less than 11 points per game over their last four? The answer is a resounding no. Even at home, BYU is up against a formidable opponent with a couple of quality wins and almost a nice upset on the road against Washington State.

Sure, this game isn’t as glamorous for Mountain West fans as it’s been in the past, but even without rankings for these two teams, it is still a big game for both fan bases. However, the Broncos are clearly the better club. We don’t even know if Tanner Mangum is going to play tonight for the Cougars. If they don’t have their QB, and keep turning the ball over, I like the Broncos.

We could also see a lower-scoring affair as well. For this play, I’m going with a 7-point teaser, moving the line down to -1½ for the Broncos, and under.
