In the Marquee Matchup of the day, SEC Football takes center stage, when undefeated Texas A&M travels to face undefeated Alabama in this 3:30 ET kick as televised by CBS-TV. Read to find out which angle to go for in this NCAAF pick.

Texas A&M vs Alabama (-18) 3:30 ET CBS TV

As odd as it may seem, the Aggies qualify as the LONE RANGER CONTRARY PLAY OF THE WEEK, as no sports bettor in the nation is about to fade the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend. No one, of course, except you, me and the LONE RANGER. This contrary selection has, because of its consistent winning record, become a fan favorite on the pages of the Pointspread Prognosis each week. And, why not? Because with value on our side, pointspread winners will ensue. With today’s A&M pointspread winner, this category will once again zoom over 60% this season.

It certainly is tough to fade Alabama. With both an OL and DL, which play like they could go intact to the Cleveland Browns next season, the Crimson Tide are outrushing opponents 266/6.2 to 65/2.1. A passing attack that averages 239 PYPG balances the offense and allows the Tide to outscore opponents by an average of 45-15. Last week, the Tide inundated Tennessee (49-10), outrushing them 438-32. In going 5-2 ATS for the season, they have covered the number by a net of 61 points. Yet, they are just 3-6 ATS as a home favorite the last 2 years! Looking for a chink in the armor? How about a passing defense that has allowed QB Kelly of Ole Miss to throw for 421 yards in a 48-13 win, no cover? Or, the same pass defense that allowed QB Allen of Arkansas to throw for 400 yards?

Credit to 5th year Texas A&M HC Sumlin for his addition of DC Chavis last season and OC Mazzone, along with this year’s QB, Trevor Knight (an Oklahoma grad transfer), they have been missing pieces to the Aggies’ puzzle. Only in an obvious flat spot vs. S. Carolina have they failed to cover the number this season, going 4-1 ATS, covering by a net of 50 points. Now, with an extra week to prepare and playing with 41-23 revenge from last year, this undefeated Aggie contingent gets nearly 3 TDs of value. The defense does not match that of the Tide, as they allow 19 PPG, including 159/3.9 overland. But, they are an explosive, well-balanced offense, averaging 274/6.8 overland and 259 PYPG. IN EVERY GAME THEY HAVE PLAYED THIS SEASON, THEY HAVE RUN AND PASSED FOR AT LEAST 200 YARDS! AND STILL, THE PUBLIC WILL BE LOATHE TO BACK THEM AGAINST NO. 1 ALABAMA. This is where you and I and the LONE RANGER step in for pointspread profits this Saturday afternoon. I invite you to put the College Football odds in your favor and join me in my College Football picks on Texas A&M this afternoon.
