#7 Stanford Cardinal at #10 Washington Huskies

Big-Time Pac-12 Action
Whoever scheduled this game for a Friday, might have made a mistake as this game has two powerhouses and is fit for a prime-time spot on Saturday. Heisman hopeful, Christian McCaffrey, looks to impose his will on the Washington Huskies defense in the battle of the unbeatens. While Stanford is the higher ranked school, Washington is a slight betting favorite due to home-field advantage at the college football odds.

You Can't Stop Him, You Can Only Hope to Contain Him
That quote defines McCaffrey, who is one if not the best player in college football. McCaffrey is an all-purpose back that can play any offensive position on the field except for offensive tackle and tight end perhaps. Last season, McCaffrey amassed 2019 yards rushing. This season he's focused a bit more on the running game than his receiving as he currently has 436 yards and 3 TD's rushing against top level competition.

Along with McCaffrey, the Huskies will have the Stanford defense to contend with. The Cardinal have allowed a mere 12 points per game in their first 3 games. From a Stanford standpoint, it will be the Christian McCaffrey Show as he is the main source of offense on this squad.

Can The Huskies Offense Be Stopped?
This will be a huge test for the Stanford defense as the Washington Huskies (4-0) average over 45 points per game and contain more offensive depth than Stanford.

It all starts with their starting quarterback, Jake Browning. Browning has breezed through the competition in the first 4 games of the season with an eye-popping completion percentage of 70.5 %. Add in the fact that Browning hasn't turned the football over ,passing for 904 yards with 14 TD's and 2 INT's and Washington has a decisive edge at the quarterback position.

Browning has a ton of options to throw the football to, but leading receiver, Chico McClatcher is a big play receiver that could make the difference in this game. McClatcher is a small man that put's up big numbers. He's averaging 22.4 yards per catch to go along with his 269 yards and 4 TD's receiving. A big play might be the answer to combat this Stanford defense.

Washington also has the luxury of having sophomore running back, Myles Gaskin. Gaskin is coming off of a 1300 yard, 14 TD season in his freshman campaign and has picked up where he left off last season as he leads the Huskies in rushing .

While Christian McCaffrey certainly scares me, the Huskies team depth is more imposing and look for Washington to cover at home.

Toledo Rockets (3-0) vs BYU Cougars (1-3)

Rockets the Slight Betting Favorite?
One would think that by the looks of each team's record that Toledo would be more of a favorite, but that's not the case as BYU has face tougher opponents and their 3 losses have come by a total of just 7 points. BYU could easily be 4-0 and this should be a very competitive game.

In Convincing Fashion
To say that the Rockets won their games in convincing fashion is an understatement. They're averaging 42.7 points per game and have allowed just 10 points .Toledo has also destroyed their opponents in overall control of the game as they average 563.7 yards of total offense and have allowed 251.7 yards of offense from their opponents. They've more than doubled the total of yards of their opposition and it doesn't matter who they play; that's quite impressive.

Big Play Thompson
Toledo leading receiver, Cody Thompson, leads the Rockets in receiving at 361 yards and 3 TDs. That's not the story. Thompson is averaging a whopping 32.8 yards per reception. The Cougars defense must key in on Thompson or he'll burn them deep. Toledo has had quite an easy time of it as quarterback, Logan Woodside has averaged over 300 yards passing per game and has thrown 11 TD's and just one pick. I look for the Toledo offense to keep being effective as BYU hasn't proven that they can "shut the door", so to speak on their opponent.

Jamaal Williams
The one advantage that BYU does have in this game is via the run. While starting quarterback Taysom Hill has been his worst enemy , turning  the football over, Jamaal Williams has proven that he can shoulder the offensive load as the senior has a 1000 yard season on his resume and is coming off of a 169 yard, 2 TD performance in a 35-32 loss to West Virginia. Look for BYU to attempt to keep the Toledo offense off of the field and the best way to do that is with the running of Williams. He'll be a major factor in this competitive matchup.

This is a huge game for BYU, but I think that the Toledo offense has a lot of talent and momentum to go along with it. For my college football pick, I say look for the Rockets to cover easily on the road.
