Saturday's top matchup isn't close on the NCAA football odds that make No. 1 Alabama more than a two touchdown favorite at home against Texas A&M.

Season: 14-16-2 (-2.90)

This is it, the first of three games to decide if defending national champ and top-ranked Alabama will go through the regular season unbeaten, and definitely the game at the top of the Week 8 college football marquee as the Crimson Tide host the Texas A&M Aggies.

The 3:30 PM (ET) broadcast will be carried nationally by CBS, and the pro-Tide crowd at Bryant-Denny Stadium is expected to see their team roll to an easy victory as favorites of more than two touchdowns. Alabama opened as 16½ point chalk at BetOnline, that spread all the way to -18½ currently, a pretty sizeable spread when you consider A&M comes in ranked No. 6 in both polls.

For you scoreboard bettors, the number you're trying to beat is 58½, the Tide running 4-3 O/U on the year while the Aggies check in 2-4 O/U.

Will Extra Time Off Help Aggies?

Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M (6-0 straight up, 4-2 against the spread) was last on a gridiron two weeks ago at home where the Aggies pulled off a 45-38 win in double-overtime, a game that featured plenty of offense (1,276 combined yards) and plenty of turnovers (10). Congrats to the college football bettors who go on Tennessee late in the week for that game, getting the +7½ or +8 offerings on the NCAA football odds. I bet early and pushed +7 on the Volunteers.

Alabama (7-0 SU, 5-2 ATS) is also coming off a win over Tennessee, taking the Vols down a week ago in Knoxville, 49-10. The Crimson Tide ran the ball at will, to which the Tennessee crowd was not amused though I was happy to see the game go just 'over' the 57 point total when I bet it (closed 54-55).  Alabama has the only real injury to report, that being right guard Alphonse Taylor questionable due to a concussion that kept him out of the win over Tennessee.

Will 'Under' Trend Continue In Tuscaloosa

So, remember when Johnny Manziel and the Aggies came to Bryant-Denny a few years ago and announced their arrival in the SEC with a 29-24 upset as 13½ point underdogs? Alabama has been making 'em pay for that since, winning the three subsequent meetings to take a 6-2 lead in the series. The Crimson Tide have covered the last two, including a 59-0 spanking in Texas A&M's follow-up visit two years ago; both SEC meetings in Tuscaloosa stayed 'under' the totals while the two in College Station went 'over' the mark.

Speaking of Tuscaloosa, the weatherman is promising a Chamber of Commerce day with the plenty of sunshine, the afternoon high climbing into the mid-70s and a light north breeze to add some crispness to the air.

Anyone catching my previews of A&M this year know I've been taking a bit of a beating betting against my beloved Aggies. Taking the points in five of their games -- never played the Prairie View game -- has me 1-3-1 on the season and down over two units. A big part of me truly expects the Tide to wipe Texas A&M up by 25+, but I can't help but take this many points on the Aggies for my free college football pick.
