Kansas State Enters Week 5 of College Football as a slight underdog that appears to have betting value. Joe Gavazzi takes a look into the Wildcats NCAAF odds and calls it like he sees it. Read more to find his expert picks.

Kansas St. vs West Virginia (-3)

We enter Week 5 of the 2016 CFB season with enough statistical data to feel comfortable with its relevance. If you believe that the numbers don’t lie, you will want to review this week’s Article on this site entitled CFB Double Rushers and the 200 Club. It will give you a strong base for your statistical handicapping. Remember, that value remains the name of the game. Use your AFP theory, described in an Article 2 weeks ago, to continue to search for contrary plays at best prices. For the football season on this site, selections are now 22-13 ATS (63%) with a plethora of winners for this week.

The PUPPY OF THE WEEK has become a standard fixture on this site. It is an underdog of 7 or fewer points, whom I believe will win the game outright. Now operating with a 67% win percentage this season, it featured the Syracuse Orangemen last week in their wire-to-wire win over the UConn Huskies. Again this week, there is little doubt in my mind that the wrong team is favored in this contest.

Kansas St., when installed as the underdog under legendary HC Bill Snyder, has become a near-automatic play. The 2016 edition of the Wildcats looks to be among Snyder’s best in recent seasons. Opening week saw the Wildcats cover at Stanford while outgaining the Cardinal 335-272.  After an OPEN date, they returned home to destroy Florida Atlantic (63 - 7) with a 336-82 overland edge. Last week’s contest against Missouri St. saw the Wildcats leading 35-0 at the half when it was postponed due to inclement weather. This week, Kansas St. travels to Morgantown to face a Mountaineer team, whom Snyder has defeated in all 4 matchups against current WVU HC Holgorsen. Not only have the Wildcats shown their ability to run the ball efficiently, but they have also shown a propensity for great defense in holding Stanford to 272 yards. It comes as little surprise that Kansas St. is 20-11 ATS recently as the underdog under Snyder.

WVU returns home, following a narrow escape against BYU (35 - 32) in Landover, Maryland. Though they won the game, the Mounties were “200 clubbed” by the Cougars, who ran and passed for 241 or more yards in totaling 521 total yards of offense. That’s a bad omen for the Mounties when favored against this series dominator. For, this has not been a prosperous role for 6th year WVU HC Holgorsen, who’s Mounties are 8 - 15 ATS as home chalk with all the lost money coming in this price range as favorite up to (-9).

It all fits today.  I invite you to put the College Football Odds in your favor and join me in my College Football Pick on Kansas St. in their ideal underdog role
