The Georgia Tech-Notre Dame game has evolved on the schedule. It’s a big game, and it’s accompanied by two other contests you might be interested in adding to your college football picks.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Odds:  Georgia Tech -2.5
This is a game in which the Yellow Jackets should be favored, but a lot of people just don’t seem to trust Georgia Tech just yet. The big thing about Georgia Tech so far this season is that it hasn’t played tough teams. The Yellow Jackets played a lower-division FCS opponent in week one, and then they played Tulane, one of the worst FBS programs, in week two. Notre Dame is a big step up in terms of quality for Georgia Tech, which must play in a very difficult environment in South Bend and could certainly be very nervous when this game starts.

Notre Dame is missing its starting quarterback, Malik Zaire; starting running back Tarean Folston; and its starting tight end, Durham Smythe. These injuries exist alongside a season-long injury for defensive tackle Jarron Jones. That’s a lot of important players the Fighting Irish will be without. Yet, Georgia Tech is just a 2.5-point favorite, partly because the Yellow Jackets are not yet trusted, and partly because Notre Dame backup quarterback DeShone Kizer led a game-winning drive on the road against Virginia last week. Many people believe the Irish won’t lose very much in the transition from Zaire to Kizer. If this is true, you should bet Notre Dame. However, Georgia Tech’s offense should be good enough to score in the high 20s at the very least. It will be hard for Notre Dame to win this game with a 30-27 score. The Irish will need to hold Georgia Tech to 20 points or fewer. Ultimately, Georgia Tech will win this game.

College Football Pick: Georgia Tech -2.5

Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Purdue Boilermakers
Odds:  Virginia Tech -6.5
The Hokies did lose by a comfortable margin to Ohio State in the first week of the season, but the Hokies led at halftime and really did not play all that badly against the number one team in the country. If the Hokies play relatively near the level they displayed against Ohio State, they should be in very good shape against a Purdue team which stumbled out of the gate and lost to Marshall on Labor Day weekend. Purdue has a lot to prove, but that isn’t necessarily a good thing. The Boilermakers have a lot to prove because they haven’t proved much over the past several years. Take Virginia Tech here.

College Football Pick: Virginia Tech -6.5 at William Hill

Auburn Tigers vs. LSU Tigers
Odds:  LSU -7
It’s true that Auburn really struggled against Jacksonville State, but the Tigers lost one player due to suspension and were shorthanded a few other players. Auburn still persevered enough on defense to pull out the win, and so when looking at this game against LSU, Auburn has a defense which should be able to contain the home team in Louisiana. LSU is probably the better team, but in terms of a point spread bet, a touchdown is too much to give to Auburn. LSU wins, but Auburn covers.

College Football Pick: Auburn +7 at Bovada
