After suffering their first loss of the season the Gators now must focus on Vanderbilt. This will not be a walk in the park, as we predict the Commodores will put up a good fight. Our capper examines this game and culminates with a free pick.

After total destruction of their first 3 opponents, the #23 Florida Gators (3-1) look to bounce back after suffering their first defeat of the season last week in a tough 38-28 loss to Tennessee. This week, the Gators face a Vanderbilt Commodores (2-2) squad who possess a bit of confidence and momentum after a just getting by Western Kentucky, 31-30. Does Vanderbilt have the talent to keep pace with Florida is the question? See our take on this game.

Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. EST on Saturday and according to 5Dimes Sportsbook, odds makers don't expect a ton of points to be scored in this game as the Florida Gators are a 10 point betting favorite and the total is listed at 41.

Can Vanderbilt Move the Ball?
Even though Florida didn't play top level competition in their first three games this season, their defense didn't allow much while the offense was in complete control. Florida has only allowed 13 points and 221.8 overall yards per game. They're particularly stingy against the rush, allowing a mere 76.5 yards on the ground to the opposition. This is where this game becomes compelling as Vanderbilt is a run-based football team. The Commodores have only 3 receiving touchdowns to their credit as running back, Ralph Webb, has shouldered the offensive load on the ground.

Ralph Webb
He hasn't gotten into the endzone very often in his collegiate career, but running back, Ralph Webb has definitely proved to be a formidable runner. He was 93 yards away from having back to back 1000 yard rushing seasons and has started 2016 off with a bang as he leads the Commodores with 472 yards and 5 TD's rushing. Expect to see a ton of Ralph Webb from a Commodores stand point in this game. Although Florida's defense will be tough to run against, I do expect Webb to have a respectable game as Tennessee has proven that an opponent can be successful against the Florida Gators defense. In Florida's last game, they allowed 179 yards and 1 TD to Jalen Hurd and Joshua Dobbs.

Luke Del Rio is Listed as Doubtful
This is not a major problem as senior quarterback, Austin Appleby has the experience and had a very solid week last week in his first week of real action this season. Appleby connected on 23 of 39 passes for 296 yards with 3 TD's and 1 INT. Appleby will certainly be looking to target Florida's top receiver, Antonio Callaway. Callaway leads the Gators in receiving with 335 yards and 2 TD's in 3 games played. Last week, he proved that he could face tough competition as he caught 4 balls for 134 yards. Look for Callaway to be a factor in this game.

While the numbers are certainly there for Austin Appleby, he's had a less than stellar career and suffered a loss in his first start of the season. As stated before, Florida has a tough defense, especially against the run, but this was against lesser competition. For my college football pick, I expect Ralph Webb to have some success as Vanderbilt make this a competitive game at home and the Commodores will be able to cover the 10 point spread.
