FanDuel Promo Code: Ball State vs. Toledo

A tie for first place in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference is on the line as the Ball State Cardinals (5-4, 3-2) face the Toledo Rockets (6-3, 4-1) Tuesday night.

Toledo enters tonight’s contest undefeated on their home turf in four games this season. They have won four of their last five games overall. The only loss in that span came to the Buffalo Bulls who currently occupy the top spot in the East Division.

Their starting sophomore quarterback Dequan Finn is questionable with a shoulder injury and may miss a second straight game. Last week, freshman quarterback Tucker Gleason completed 15 of his 27 pass attempts for 238 yards and three touchdowns in relief during his team’s 27-24 win against the Eastern Michigan Eagles.

Defensively, the Rockets are allowing the fewest yards per game in the conference (347.6) as well as the third fewest points per contest (26.9). They are led by junior linebacker Dallas Gant who ranks sixth in the conference with 78 total tackles on the season.

The Cardinals have also won four out of their last five games heading into this matchup. Ball State is 2-3 on the road this year with early non-conference losses to Ohio State as well as San Diego State. Despite entering as double-digit underdogs here, the Cardinals have won two of their last three against Toledo.

Junior quarterback John Paddock has thrown for 2,239 yards this season landing him third in the conference in that category. He is also tied for third with 16 passing touchdowns this year. Paddock’s favorite target has been senior wideout Jayshon Jackson. Jackson leads the conference with 64 receptions which he has turned into 735 yards and is second on that statistical list.

Ball State is middle of the pack on defense allowing an average of just over 27 points per game this season. That squad is highlighted by junior linebacker Clayton Coll who leads the team with 78 total tackles. Last week, he tallied 13 in his team’s victory against the Kent State Golden Flashes.
