I'm taking a look at the PAC 12 matchup between the Washington Huskies and USC Trojans. Take a look at the total odds break down and a prediction for my thursday night free college football pick.

College football Odds
College Football Odds makers have come out with the total at 56 for this matchup. There is some pretty good value on grabbing under the total in this spot. At some places like Pinnacle Sports you can get good value at under this total at -101.

Washington Huskies
Offensively Washington comes in averaging 22.7 points per game, 293.3 yards per game, and a third-down 34.29% conversion rate. You would think with a Chris Peterson team they would be more productive on that in, but I think what he is doing is similar to what Jim Harbaugh is doing in Michigan. Establishing a defensive minded first team and then boost up the offense as he starts to recruit some real talent. With an explosive offense on the other side of the field I look for Washington to do all they can to control the clock and keep the chains moving.

Defensively Washington allows 21 points per game, 357.3 yards per game, and a third-down 43.40% conversion rate. They allowed 30 points against California which was the lowest total the Bears have put up all season and they will face a tougher task today on the road. They haven't been a stellar defense, but they also are not a push over. USC will get their points but they will be hard-fought points.

USC Trojans
Offensively USC averages 46.8 points per game, 532 yards per game, and a 42.86% third-down conversion rate. With Cody Kessler leading the way this offense is seriously good. Even in the game against Stanford in which they scored just 31 points, they did that scoring lightning fast only having the ball 20 minutes. I think Washington will have to take the good hard look at the game plan that Stanford implemented in order to have any kind of chance in this game. I can see USC putting up some solid points in this game, but at the same time with Washington trying to mimic what Stanford did, look for a more controlled game as far as clock management goes.

Defensively USC is allowing 17.5 points per game, 410 yards per game, and a third-down 39.34% conversion rate. This is a pretty good defense with quite a bit of talent and I think Washington is going to struggle to put up points. After giving up 41 points against Stanford they really locked down Arizona State at Arizona allowing only 14 points. Look for a similar type of performance against the Huskies.

It is always fun to take the over in college football and then sit back and watch the game. In this matchup though, although there will be points, I look for some tough defense on both sides of the ball. For one of your College Football Picks this week I recommend backing under the total with the Huskies and the Trojans.
