Week 2's college football betting board includes a matchup of teams that enjoyed easy Week 1 wins. Join us for a look at Oklahoma State taking on the Central Michigan Chippewas.

Central Michigan vs Oklahoma State
All things considered, it was a pretty good start for the Big 12. The 10 teams that make up college football's dirty dozen won seven games against three losses, bettors covering six of those games if they got on the Kansas State-Stanford game early. Why, even lowly Kansas won and covered a game, perhaps the only time that will happen in 2016.

Still, it was a rather strange week when one factor in Oklahoma losing and TCU not looking near as good as expected against South Dakota State.

Oklahoma State, meanwhile, did just about everything Mike Gundy asked of his team, and then some, in a 61-7 win over Southeastern Louisiana. The Cowboys scored early and often to cover a 49 point spread on the NCAA football odds, one of the largest numbers in Week 1, and Gundy is hoping for a similar result this Saturday when his squad is once again a pronounced favorite against the Central Michigan Chippewas.

FOX Sports 1 will carry the 12 PM (ET) kickoff from Stillwater, and the Cowboys are favored by 21 at 5Dimes (A+ Sportsbook in SBR's Ratings) where the early total is 61.

Schools Meeting For Just 2nd Time On Gridiron
The wagering particulars were eerily similar last September when the teams met for the very first time up in Mount Pleasant, and in many ways, this year's matchup is a revenge game for both sides.

Favored by 21 with a 58 point total, Oklahoma State had to mount a second-half rally for the 24-13 decision against a determined group of Chippewas who were backed by a raucous crowd at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Trailing 13-10 in the third, Mason Rudolph used his legs and his arm to bring the Cowboys back to avoid an embarrassing season-opening upset.

That game was CMU head coach John Bonamego's first game in Mount Pleasant, and the 2015 season did not get off to a great start for the Chips who dropped four of their first six matchups. They did, however, cover the first seven a year ago and rebounded to go on to a bowl game. Central Michigan returns 14 starters from that team, including senior QB Cooper Rush who is at or near the top of most CMU passing records as he begins his fourth year starting under center.

The Chippewas are also coming off an easy Week 1 win, blasting tiny Presbyterian by a 49-3 count. They were able to run roughshod over the Blue Hose, something the Chippewas will not be able to do against OSU.

Experienced Cowboys Enjoying Early Home Life
A lot of familiar faces have also returned for Oklahoma State, 16 in total including nine on the offensive side. Gundy got to run through pretty much his entire depth chart in the rout of Southeastern Louisiana, working in three QBs and a bevy of running backs, including Stanford transfer Barry Sanders, son of the Oklahoma State great.

The Cowboys have the luxury of playing their first three games at Boone Pickens Stadium, and five of their first six. It's a team that could very well be 10-0 in November, but that's when the slate gets very tough with road games at TCU and Oklahoma.

Still several days in advance of the contest, bettors will want to recheck the weather forecast before going to the window. But as of now, things are looking pretty good. A front is expected Friday evening to help cool things down a bit, Saturday afternoon's high only expected to reach the low-80s. Skies should begin to clear during the game thanks in part to a 10-15 mph NE breeze.

Central Michigan kept OSU's offense off the field last season with short passes to extend drives. The Cowboys will be ready for that this time, and I like them to win by four TDs for my free college football pick.
