These days, Betonline.com is a great sportsbook for getting early numbers if you want fresh betting odds & is a go to source if you have strong thoughts to make sports picks right from the get go.

I will often use them for a variety of reasons and definitely did for this article. This next week's slate of games is lacking in quality, yet we still find College Football Odds, which upon initial viewing causes a reaction of wonderment if the line is really accurate or is there some hidden value we can pounce on quickly as football bettors. Here are a half dozen furrowed brow lines from BetOnline for next weekend games that made this football handicapper think twice.

Rutgers -13 Point Home Favorite Over Kansas
If the Big Ten could excommunicate Rutgers from the conference, they would with the latest scandal surrounding this university, making this league look like the SEC. (Stop, it's a joke) The Scarlet Knights will be without their head coach Kyle Flood and after an ugly home loss to below average Washington State team and showing zero offense against Penn State, hard to image Rutgers would favored by 13 points against anybody. But then you have the great equalizer, Kansas, which make it more tolerable to think the Scarlet Knights could cover the freight. However, my cash will not be used for backing Rutgers for College Football Picks at this price.

Baylor -33 Point Home Favorite vs. Rice
The Bears have given up 26 points a game to SMU and Lamar and they are this large a favorite? Yes, we understand Baylor can score big numbers in a hurry, but their defense is cause for concern, with Rice averaging 33 PPG in a pair of games against FBS opponents. The first impression of these college football odds is they seem about three to four points heavy.

Penn State -12 Point Home Favorite vs. San Diego State
While it is true the Penn State passing offense is still a mess,  the offensive line showed some signs of life in helping the Nittany Lions rush for 300 yards against Rutgers this last Saturday. If Penn State is was a nine-point favorite against the Scarlet Knights, would it not be reasonable to assume they should be larger favorites against a San Diego State team that just lost at home to South Alabama 34-27 as 17.5 point favorite and surrendered 514 yards of offense? Toss this will be a 9:00 am start Pacific time on Saturday and the Aztecs could be down 14-0 before they wipe the sleep out of their eyes.

TCU -9 Road Favorite vs. Texas Tech
The Horned Frogs rebuilt defense was just shredded for 508 yards (330 passing ) by SMU at Fort Worth and now they will have to face a far more prolific offense in Lubbock against Texas Tech. The Red Raiders played very well in their upset at Arkansas 35-24 and will have ample motivation after being embarrassed by the Frogs on the road last year 82-27. There probably is nothing wrong with the line itself, but this could be tighter than it appears on the surface.

Minnesota -12.5 Point Home Favorite vs. Ohio U.
Since giving a game effort versus TCU at home, Minnesota needed OT to beat Colorado State and did next to nothing offensively in 10-7 win Kent State as 23.5 point home favorites. The Golden Gophers are averaging 16.7 PPG and being this size a favorite against an Ohio U. club that is 3-0 SU and ATS, with its 17 returning starters, it might be cause for pause before thinking about laying cash with this Big Ten squad.

Auburn -3.5 Point Home Favorite vs. Mississippi State
I completely agree the oddsmakers have the right number on Auburn. However, to give you an indication how poorly the Tigers have looked thus far in 2015, consider when the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas released its annual early numbers at the end of June, Auburn was at -8 for this contest and thought to be have a very good chance to be SEC champions. After being lucky to escape in OT against Jacksonville State and steamrolled by LSU, most books are saying Auburn is beatable in this SEC encounter.
