Doug Upstone is back to provide you with a quick refresher on the upcoming Dollar General Bowl. Here is an update with more betting information and other material to add to his original analysis and pick.

This will be second bowl matchup for Troy and Ohio U. In 2010, they faced off in the New Orleans Bowl and Troy trashed Ohio U. 48-21 as a two-digit favorite. The Bobcats have been underdogs in six of past seven bowl dates and are 4-2 ATS. The Trojans are 2-2 and 2-1-1 ATS in their bowl game history.

When looking over the college football odds at always popular Bovada, this has been the one bowl game which has remained rock solid on the side (4) and total (49), which means either bettors and wise guys think the numbers are spot on, or the volume of wagering is so low, nothing is moving the sportsbooks numbers.

For college football picks I will be sticking with the original selection of Troy at -4 and here are totals thoughts.

As I mentioned previously, this sets up to be a lower scoring affair. The Bobcats were 11-1 UNDER this season and Troy was 6-4-2 UNDER. The Trojans averaged over 34 points a game and under coach Frank Solich, Ohio is 11-2 UNDER against teams averaging 34 or more points a game. With the total having held 49, I said Troy would win by 7, thus, I'll back the UNDER is 27-20 final.
