Many conferences are toting heavy favorites heading into the season, but there's still a lot of value to be found by hitting the right college football division winner picks. Here are our college football futures division winner bets for the 2022-23 regular season.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, there are six divisions that don’t have a clear favorite with +100 or better odds. While there are huge favorites such as Alabama (-600), Georgia (-550), Ohio State (-320), and Clemson (-240), there is little value in taking one of them to win their respective divisions.

However, when you start to look down the list at some of the more wide-open conferences, there is plenty of value to be had in the Power Five and beyond.

Here are my top division winner picks for the 2022-23 college football season  (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook).

College Football Division Winner Futures Betting Picks

Virginia to win ACC Coastal (+600 via DraftKings)Purdue to win Big Ten West (+600 via FanDuel)San Jose State to win Mountain West West (+900 via DraftKings)

What Are The Best College Football Division Winner Bets For 2022-23?

Virginia To Win ACC Coastal (+600)

The Miami Hurricanes have the shortest odds to win the ACC Coastal at +150 on DraftKings and +125 on FanDuel. Though it makes sense that people are excited about the revamped team, the ACC Coastal is anything but predictable. The second-shortest odds belong to defending champion Pittsburgh, but the Panthers just lost star quarterback Kenny Pickett to the draft.

To find real value, take a look at the 2019 champion Virginia Cavaliers. Virginia went 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the ACC last season, but it got a new head coach in former Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott. In his first year, Elliott will get UNC, Miami, and Pittsburgh (the three favorites in the division) at home, and travel to Duke, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech, who are all likely to be non-factors in their respective divisions.

In 2021, the Cavaliers’ offense scored 30 or more points in seven games, and they return quarterback Brennan Armstrong and their top three receivers. The offensive line is suspect, which is a concern, but Armstrong may be able to beat the rush by getting the ball to his playmakers quickly. If he can, this offense can outscore every team in the division.

Purdue To Win Big Ten West (+600)

Another one of the Power Five divisions that lacks consistency is the Big Ten West. Last season, Iowa won a crowded division with a 7-2 record, while Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Purdue all went 6-3.

The Boilermakers were hot down the stretch, playing well behind a high-powered offense. In their home win over Michigan State in early November, they put up 40 points, a number they hit three times in their final five games.

Aidan O’Connell seems destined to be the best quarterback in the division this season, so it’s interesting to see his team with just the fifth-shortest odds. Wisconsin is slightly favored with odds of just +170 on FanDuel, which indicates Vegas thinks there are a lot of teams in the mix. Of them all, the Boilermakers offer the best value.

San Jose State To Win Mountain West West (+900)

The Spartans fell off significantly in 2021 after winning the Mountain West in the division-less 2020 COVID-shortened season. Fresno State (-140) and San Diego State (+190) are the clear favorites in the West, but the only other team with any chance is San Jose State.

Despite their 5-7 (3-5) record from a season ago, the defense for the Spartans was solid throughout most of the year. However, the other side of the ball was a disaster. In 12 games, the Spartans finished with 4,081 yards, which ranked 108th in the country. To solve their offensive woes, they brought in quarterback Chevan Cordeiro from Hawaii. He threw for 2,793 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2021.

While the Spartans will have to travel to both Fresno State and San Diego State for their two toughest division games of the year, they do not have to play either Boise State or Air Force from the East. If the Spartans can avoid losses to teams that are clearly beneath them in the conference, it'll come down to how they play in those two road games. They’ll almost certainly be underdogs, but they have a chance, which is more than you can say for most teams with odds near +1000.
