The NCAA Football season is finally back. It may only be Week 1 action, but after having a short one last year, I’ll take all the football I can get my grubby hands on. Right now we are looking at some of the more vulnerable favorites around the country so let's dive into some College Football odds for two games on Saturday.

Stanford Cardinal vs. Kansas State Wildcats

Saturday, September 04, 2021 - 12:00 PM EDT at AT&T Stadium

I think this game is an odd one on the Week One slate. I don’t buy Kansas State being significantly better than they were last year. I know Skylar Thompson looked really good and is a solid dual-threat and I know that Stanford’s run defense wasn’t what we are accustomed to seeing from them.

Having said all that, David Shaw still produces one of the most consistently good programs in America, year in and year out. This game is a neutral site game, Stanford has had all offseason to prepare.

The Pick

Kansas State needs to watch out in this one. I like Stanford plus the points here.

Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns vs Texas Longhorns

Saturday, September 04, 2021 - 04:30 PM EDT at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium

The Rajin Cajuns showed us just how good they are and how far they have come last year when they waltzed into Ames, Iowa, and handed Iowa State a loss in Week 1. Austin won’t intimidate this team. Levi Lewis is back again and showed that he can play with anyone in America last year.

Additionally, first-year Head Coach Steve Sarkisian kind of surprised people by naming Hudson Card the starter for this one.

Texas may not be a totally cohesive unit for the first game of the year.

The Pick

Factor in that with losses on the defensive side of the ball, a new head coach, and a very dangerous opponent you get all the makings for a big upset in Coach Sark’s Texas debut so I like Louisiana-Lafayette to pull the upset here for my NCAA pick.
